An Introduction to puberty - Year 4 / 5 Our Introduction to puberty PSHE Unit for KS2 contains 4 lessons following the new DfE Statutory Guidance and the PSHE Association’s suggested themed approach for Puberty and Growing Up (Health and Wellbeing strand). Changing Emotions In this lesson, the students will learn about the emotional and changes that boys and girls commonly experience during puberty. We will discuss the impact of hormones such as estrogen and testosterone on our mood. The lesson touches on topics such as mood swings, premenstrual syndrome, feelings of aggression, irritability and low mood, as well as ways that we can manage these symptoms.
