Complete lesson on the Eye and Vision, designed for the new Activate Scheme but can be used for another syllabus’ as well.
Includes various tasks and discussions around how the eye works and what causes vision to be blurry and how to correct. All answers are provided on the slides so students can self/peer assess. It starts with a word serahc on keywords linked to the eye and light to familiarise students with some of the spellings. There is a differentiated worksheet on the structure of the eye and what each structure does. There is a set of information sheets that can be printed on A3 and placed around the room for the students to use to fill in their worksheet. The lower ability information sheets are best printed in colour and have basic information on them needed to complete the diagram label and part and function match up. In contrast, the higher ability worksheet requires students to read a more detailed information sheet and extract the key information to include themselves when annotating the diagram. There is then a gap fill activity on the worksheet that can be completed while discussing short-sighted and long-sighted vision and how to correct.

The practical is best done in a darkened room. There is opportunities for discussion, linking of the physics of light to everyday objects and deeper thinking all included within this lesson.
The plenary is a challenge grid with 9 questions, students have 10 minutes to complete as many questions as they can. The questions get progressively more challenging. Answers are included on the final slide for students to self assess. The starter activity is to unscramble tiles, I have put a printable version at the front of the powerpoint (2 versions).

KS3 Electromagnets Revision Pyramid Activity. Answers are also included to allow for self/peer assessment.
Students have to answer as many questions as they can to reach 100 points in a certain time. This is a great activity for revision purposes and allows students to differentiate the level of questioning they answer as different questions are worth different amounts of points with harder questions being worth more.
All the lessons needed to complete the KS3 topic of sound. Complete lessons, differentiated questions and worksheets and various activities for various abilities on;

BONUS: Includes an independent task on Loudness and Pitch that is great for cover work or extra work for a student.
Challenge Question pyramid based around the initial lessons for science for Year 7. Differentiated questions with easiest questions being worth 5 points and hardest question being worth 30 points. I usually set this as a challenge giving the students 20 mins to try and reach 100 points. Students highlight each question as they attempt them. This challenge can be approached in different ways from picking the easier questions and answering more questions or having less, but more challenging questions. It often surprises me as to how many students will challenge themselves to the harder questions and push themselves.
Answers are included so students can self/peer assess.

Attached is a complete lesson on Energy dissipation for KS3 Energy Transfers topic. It covers energy dissipation, energy transfers and efficiency calculations. For high ability students you could get them to have a go at creating Sankey diagrams on wasted and useful energy.
I have created a step by step narrative on Efficiency calculations that can be used as an activity with the students. You may find that the high ability students do not need this extra support.
Hope you find this complete lesson with resources helpful. Please leave a review.
Attached are 5 lessons and worksheets for a very low ability Year 7 class on Electricity. Lessons are designed to go along with the worksheets. Practical activities need to be run alongside the lessons to support the learning.
I can’t take credit for the worksheets as they were made by someone else. They were given to me by another teacher so I don’t know who made them to give them the credit.

Here is a lesson I used with a top set year 8 class over a period of two lessons. the first lesson focused on what are moments, levers, pivots and turning forces with a practical to help students understand how the forces work. There are two different practicals, one for lower ability and one for higher ability.
Following this, pupils can self assess on how they feel about moments and calculating them and then complete the releveant worksheet, self assess using the markscheme and then move onto the next level. This independent differentiated task allows for focus on helping those who are struggling more.
The presentation is sectioned off so sections that aren’t needed in the lesson (e.g. LA in HA group) can be hidden by highlighting slides, right clicking and select Hide Slides.
Hope this differentiated lesson and resources is helpful when teaching turning moments. Any feedback would be great and also check out any other resources. Thanks.
