Activities include a focused look at the types of question that appear on the tests, and how to answer them (with a matching leaflet for parents or learners) and lessons focused on the key skills of information retrieval and inference and deduction with worksheets.

Power point presentations with a writing task for Years 7, 8, and 9 with the opportunity for learners to respond to peer assessment built in. These were originally devised as part of a drive to show that learners were responding to feedback and evidencing this in their books. The tasks are similar but contain references to the different criteria for the Literacy Numeracy Framework (LNF) in Wales.

Activities include reading examples and identifying features of the different purposes, planning own writing with a range of tasks to choose from, independent writing, peer assessment and improvement all with a football theme. Booklet was created using Microsoft Publisher but, following some feedback, I have also adapted it into a Word document for anyone without Publisher.
