This is a creative writing assignment to help teach students about persuasive writing. There are 4 different levels of the assignment so it can meet the needs of a variety of skill levels and grades (k-8th).
In society today, we are influenced by many different forms of media. To help illustrate this, there is a second part to this project where students will take their writing and create a visual written form of their opinion.
Read the prompt and ideas below. Create a brainstorm/prewrite on the topic.
Use the brainstorm/prewrite to write a persuasive writing piece. Write a few sentences, paragraph, or essay explaining your opinion. Make sure to include a topic or thesis statement, reasons for your opinions, examples, and explanations of each reason, and a conclusion.
Then choose a writing form from the list and then pick one of the prompts below to convince someone of your opinion. Create a digital or paper version of a letter, email, pamphlet, app/website (get creative with a paper version of an app with different screens/pages), blog, debate, or advertisement.

There are 4 different levels for this writing assignment so it can be used for kindergarten through 8th grade. This differentiation can create a way for teachers and homeschool parents to teach the same concept to a variety of skill levels.
There are 4 different points of view to write from/4 different writing prompts. Students can either write 4 stories (one from each point of view) OR students can each pick one prompt and write from that, and then students can share and present their writing and as a class, talk about how the different points of view changed the stories.
