A word search puzzle worksheet featuring vocabulary related to St Patrick’s Day. Use this to introduce vocab or as a treat for early finishers. Kids love puzzles; and word searches are a great way to improve spelling while having fun. There are 20 vocabulary words to find in this activity and they might be found in any direction including backwards. This means it is fairly challenging so it should keep puzzlers busy for a while. This is a presentation using the angle family; Mr Obtuse, Mrs. Right, Baby Acute and Reflex Rex! It is a fun way to help students remember the different types of angles. The last slide contains a quick review of what they learned. The worksheet contains 6 different angles. The children must first name the angles. Then, estimate their size and finally measure them using a protractor. I would recommend using these resources with Year 4 or Year 5.

This is resource contains an exercise that gets the children to practice using a ruler; as well as a presentation on converting units of measure. The worksheet asks students to measure the lines with their rulers. They then must convert from cm to mm. As an extension at the end, they are required to draw their own lines based on a length given in centimetres. The presentation goes through how to convert from mm to cm, and from cm to m. There are exercised along the way to get the children practicing. This lesson is suited for a Year 4 class or could be used for revision with Year 5. The answers to the lengths are also included.

This resource helps children identify nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs. It contains 4 posters (adjectives, adverbs, nouns and verbs) and two worksheets. The first worksheet explains what each type of word is before testing the children with the activity. There is an extension at the end of the sheet for students to practice putting the words in sentences. The second worksheet is like the concept of colour by numbers but instead it is colour by word class.

This resource includes a poem used to show different poetic techniques as well as a power point. It could be used in any KS2 poetry class. This poem is called Desperate. It is about s child trying to include all the poetic techniques they have learned but they are finding the task difficult. Without knowing they include all the techniques required. Techniques include alliteration, rhyme, metaphor, simile and personification. The power point explains alliteration, similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, rhyme and repetition and gives examples of each.

This is a topic evaluation for Science and Humanities. It gives students a chance to reflect on their learning at the end of a unit. It is suited for KS2.

This resource contains a presentation on what a living thing is and also the life processes. The children are show similarities and difference between plants and animals and then are shown how they can classify these living things according to similarities/difference. The activity is then to sort the animals using a Carroll diagram and a Venn diagram. Animal picture cards are included in the resource. The worksheet is differentiated. The high ability children must come up with their own way to sort the animals. Low ability students are given heading to help them.

This Viking Quest is designed to be a cross-curricular link between humanities and maths. There are 30 word problems for the students to solve, covering addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. There are 3 rounds of questions which they must solve. Once they solve the questions they are given clues written in runes. They must solve these clues in order to stop a Viking attack on the Anglo-Saxons. All answers are provided as well as teacher instructions. Children can work independently or as part of a group. The questions are suited to a Year 4 or 5 class. This is a play script I used for a Year 4 class assembly. The theme is Persistence and is centered around authors, specifically Roald Dahl, J.K Rowling and Dr. Seuss. It is a perfect play to use for Book Week. The performance has a cast of 24 students (parts can be combined or split if needed). The play lasts around 30 minutes and includes two songs and a dance routine. The different roles gives opportunities to all students from the dramatic ones to the more reserved. I hope your class enjoys it as much as mine did!

This PowerPoint teaches the children how to put words in alphabetical order. There is then an exercise to practice this. This resource is suitable for Year 3 and Year 4.

This resource is to help practice area and perimeter of rectangles, squares and compound shapes. There are 2 posters on how to find area and perimeter and 3 worksheets which are differentiated. The LA worksheet is an exercise to find the perimeter and area of different rectangles, where the length of the sides are already given. The MA worksheet requires students to first measure the sides and then use this to find the area and perimeter. The HA worksheet requires students to find the area of compounds shapes. They first have to find the length of the missing sides.
