Year 3 weekly spellings
34 weekly differentiated spelling lists for Year 3. The lists can be edited and differentiated further from Mild, Medium and Spicy as well as adding more spellings lists as needed.
All the lists are on word and have visual reminders for prompts to help the children to practice their spellings. The boxes on the tables change sizes over the course of a week so the children are remembering and practicing two or three spellings at a time.
Reading Challenge: Bronze to Platinum
I have used this with infant classes from Reception to Year 3, mostly trying to encourage reluctant readers to still read at home. Even if it was only a couple of pages a night they would still be working their way towards a bronze, silver or gold certificate. This also praises and recognises those children who read every night at home. The challenge is for 21 days including the weekends, we ran the challenge to coincide with World Book Day and presented the certificates in an assembly to all children who took part. We did emphasis to the children that the challenge is in regards to their own reading, trying to increase how often they read at home and not a competition with the rest of the class.
This resource includes:
a record chart with specific numbers of days for each award (bronze 12, silver 15, gold 18 and platinum 21) and 10 copies of each certificate with the number of days written on.
commended reader certificates are also included in the bundle.
