This is the sixth lesson in a series of lessons on the Atlantic Slave Trade. These lessons are aimed at children aged between 13-15. They match to a number of the Scottish E’s and Os for level 3. This lesson looks at what life was like for slaves working on plantations. Pupils are asked to complete a task which looks at, living conditions, working conditions and dangers. This lesson looks at what rationing was like on the Home Front during World War Two. Pupils are asked to think about what was rationed and then to figure out how much they think people would have been given of different foods. Following this there is a rationing quiz where pupils have to complete simple maths problems to work out how much a family would receive. A great way to add numeracy into the lesson.
