Psychology of Relationships - Matching Hypothesis Experiment

(0)
This is a complete activity for testing Matching Hypothesis. It is a chance for students to take the lead on some actual psychological research and better understand the ideas behind matching hypothesis. In groups students must choose and experimenter. They ask everyone else to rate the attractiveness of the photos on the 'Photo Rating Survey' and record this in the table on the 'Rating Tables' sheet. A score of 1-10 should be agreed in the group. Using simply maths of averages the experimenter then calculates if the 'real couples' are more or less closely rated on attractiveness than the 'posed couples'. The calculation is explained at the end of the 'Rating Tables' sheet.

Sociological Perspectives - Revision Activity
fletcher6_123fletcher6_123

Sociological Perspectives - Revision Activity

(0)
This is a different activity for a revision lesson of Sociology and Families. Print each set of cards on a different colour and cut them up. Students then take a 'View Point Card' and must explain, from this view point, what they think of their selected 'What is your opinion of' card. If they get it right they win the pair, if not they have to choose a different 'What is your opinion of' card. This could also be played as role play, or to help students structure essays. There are blank cards on each set where students can add any topics they also feel important
