A 4-lesson scheme of work on extremism and radicalisation, to be taught as part of PSHE. This scheme is designed to target KS3/lower KS4, but is fully editable and adaptable. It includes drama scenarios, comprehension activities, and links to videos/useful clips. This scheme can be taught by a class teacher or assigned as home learning as the booklet is fully follow-along-able.
This PSHE scheme of work focuses on first aid and the concept of kindness, with an additional short appendix on careers in health. This booklet can be self-led or taught to a class, and so is perfect for home learning as well as school learning. This scheme should last approximately 2.5 hours and would be perfect alongside a demonstrative lesson/workshop.
This scheme is fully editable, and as of June 2023 now contains an additional worksheet on basic first aid as a separate attachment.
A short 3-lesson scheme of work on marriage, relationships, and forced marriage, with an extension task on the Forced Marriage Unit (FMU). This can be taught in class to a group or assigned as independent learning. It is also great for cover teachers or form tutors to follow.
This is a scheme of work on mental health, spanning five lessons. It covers topics such as grief, depression and anxiety. This can be taught by a teacher to a full class or given as independent work or to form tutors, as these topics are easy to follow along. This topic should cover around 4 hours of content if teacher-led.
This resource is fully adaptable.
This download contains a short scheme of work on thoughts and emotions, separated into two booklets
Thoughts and Feelings (to be taught first)
Emotional Awareness (to be taught second)
This is designed for KS3 pupils, and can be taught to classes or used for independent study as the booklets are quite easy to follow along without teacher input. This also makes these lessons great for cover work.
In all, this content should last you 3 lessons.
This is a large PSHE scheme of work split into two parts, covering seven lessons. This is presented as a word document and is fully editable. These lessons can be taught by a teacher, form tutor, or studied independently.
The first part of this scheme is titled “Prejudice and Discrimination” and the second part is titled “Us vs Them Mentality”.
This PSHE scheme comes in two parts:
Law and Law Making (to be taught first)
Law and Law Enforcement (to be taught second)
This PSHE scheme is designed to take six lessons if teacher-led, but can also be studied independently, as each scheme is easy to follow. Each scheme is also fully editable.
A short enrichment scheme designed for black history month, to be taught in form time or as part of PSHE. This scheme also includes an art-based activity. It is two lessons long and should take two hours to teach.
This is a short scheme of work spanning three lessons that explores what stress is and how to cope with stress. This scheme is designed for lower KS3 but can be edited and adapted upwards. The booklet is quite easy to follow so can be used for independent learning or given to form tutors.
A short three-lesson scheme of work on managing change and mindset. This lesson can be taught to a class or given as independent study work. It is fully editable.
A number of templates that can be handed out as knowledge checks/exit passes for a variety of topics. My favourite is explain to an alien. This pack also includes:
Diamond 9
Draw & write
Picture prompts
Zones of relevance
These four booklets form a scheme of work that can be used to inform the Active Citizenship element of the AQA GCSE Citizenship course. They can also be used as part of PSHE or to introduce the concept of Human Rights. The scheme covers:
What are Human Rights?
Human Rights case study: Period Poverty
Human Rights case study: Camp Delta (Guantanamo Bay)
Other Human Rights abuses (Blood Diamonds, Flint MI)
Included are two careers schemes of work and several stand-alone lessons linked to employability. These will support your school in hitting the Gatsby benchmarks.
The first scheme included is an introduction to careers, covering several core topics including teamwork and communication.
The second is an NCFE scheme of work that allows pupils to achieve an NCFE certificate in employability. This covers topics such as creative thinking, adaptability and risk assessment.
There are also several individual lessons that can be used as evidence for AQA unit awards, or can be taught just to be taught. These lessons are:
“Curiosity in Learning”
“Resilience in Learning”
“Creativity in Learning”
“Building a CV”
“Entering the World of Work”
“Leading a Group”
These can be taught together or separately. Together these lessons could span a handful of terms.
I have also included the scheme of work document.
Included in this pack are three booklets, one focussing on Autism and communication challenges, the other on Asperger’s syndrome, and the third on ASD more broadly. These can also be used to evidence AQA unit awards.
Included here are two short lessons, one on Breast Cancer and one on Testicular Cancer. These would be good alongside demonstrations using models, etc., or alongside talks from externals.
This lesson focuses on use of sharps and safe disposal of sharps. It is presented as a booklet, is fully editable, and can be used to evidence an AQA unit award.
