This is a fun and creative end of year activity for Year 7 Geography students where they get to use what they have learned about various animals and their adaptations to a particular environment (desert, rainforest etc.). Students get creative inventing their own animal. Two versions of the activity are attached (file 2 is augmented).

Attached is a snapshot of a SmartNote gallery sort activity (because TES won't allow upload of the interactive file type). This file can be used as a content checklist for students when they are composing their own postcard. This (originally interactive) activity was created and used with a Year 7 Literacy class where they were required to write a postcard from '1000 years into the future" while "holidaying on another planet in the solar system" as part of their 'Space' unit which included fiction and non-fiction texts.

Four Spheres Tutorial worksheet plus a ‘sentence arrange'. Print pages at the end of the tutorial. This is a kinaesthetic learning & literacy activity that can be used after the students have learned about the "four spheres”. One sheet per student with a word on it. Students stand out the front and work to sort themselves and the words into the right order so that it makes a proper sentence with geographically accurate information. Students without a card can assist by giving advice on the correct order. At the end, students say their word in order to read the completed sentence.

Workbook on tsunamis intended as part or the Natural Hazards unit of work Yr 9 Geography. Designed as an information and thinking skills unit based on geographical detail for topic information and uses the movie "The Impossible" as a complement. Some of the science/geography information is based on a TES file contributed by Penny1413 so credit to Penny (thank you). This is intended as a light end of year work activity after exams. Note that appropriate parent/guardian approval must be sought before showing this M rated movie to students.
