An oral ping-pong game (pairwork) on perfect tense of verbs requiring ETRE (English to French)

Laminate (possibly) then cut up and give to teams of two or three students to do under timed conditions. One point per square used correctly. if don't want to cut up you can use mini boards.

Students, working in teams and equipped with mini boards need to spot the antonyms and answer (on the mini-boards) the metalinguistic questions. One point for each pair of antonyms spotted and as many bonus points as the stars in each case if the answers to the questions are 100% correct. The teams take turns in calling out the cases. The winning team is the one who scores the most points or completes the first column in the table.

Challenging definitions game on food aimed at a good KS4 group. Instructions: each team call out the case they want to claim and match it to the correct definition. The first team to claim three cases of the same colour win.

A very uplifting song by Tal about adolescents going through a rough (emotional) time. Great range of vocabulary. Catchy modern tune.

KS4 -5 tutorials on drugs with lots of vocab building and reading comprehension activities.

Students are divided into teams; the teacher and/or one or more students will be the judge(s). The challenge consists in paraphrasing, explaining and providing supporting examples for the proverbs in the table (either projected on the screen or blown up on an A3). Fluency and intelligibility of student output are more important than grammatical accuracy.
