This bundle contains a complete series of workbooks made for GCSE Sociology students. It includes the four new workbooks made for each of the four main sections of the course (Family, Education, Crime & Deviance, and Social Stratification) and, as a bonus resource, my very popular Research Methods workbook.
The workbooks were designed for the AQA specification and adapted for the WJEC/EDUQAS specification (two versions of each workbook are included in this resource pack).
Each of the four main workbooks contains the following:
Student Progress-Check Tasks
A Personal Learning Checklist
Activity 1 - Mind-Map Overview Task
Activity 2 - Reading Comprehension
Activity 3 - Key-Work Match & Listing Tasks
Activity 4 - Online Research Tasks
Activity 5 - Reading Comprehension
Activity 6 - Bare-bones Essay Planning Task
Activity 7 - Creative Tasks (Posters & Poetry)
Activity 8 - Investigate & Report (Newspaper Article Task)
Activity 9 - Reading Comprehension
Activity 10 - Essay-Planning Activity
Activity 11- Essay Assessment
Extension Tasks (Many!)
Each contains 25+ sides of activities and is designed to be printed as a double-sided workbook. The files are in editable Word (.doc) format in-case you wish to make any amendments (e.g. changing the exam questions).
The workbooks are not designed to be a comprehensive: they each include selected readings and cover some (not all) of the topics listed in the specification.
If you are happy with your purchase and leave a 5* rating for this TES bundle, please email me ( godwin86@gmail.com ) and I will send you a FREE ‘Revision Strategy Battle Planner’ which will be useful for your Year 11 students.

This bundle contains 20 GCSE Sociology assessments in the form of practice exam sections. It is designed for the latest AQA specification.
Each of the 20 exam sections is half a full exam and takes 50 minutes for students to complete. Each of the 20 exam sections contain a standard set of questions including two 12-mark rubrics: a model answer for one of them is included for each assessment. Each of the 20 exam sections is accompanied by a mark-scheme.
In short, in this bundle you get 20 exam sections, 20 mark-schemes, and 20 model 12-mark answers.
This bundle should take care of most (if not all) of your GCSE Sociology assessment needs: students should ideally complete these 20 assessments over the 2-year course; data-collection of results allows for easy progress tracking. You may prefer to use them in the run-up to formal public exams: they are ideal for this also!
There are five assessments for each of the four main topics: Crime & Deviance, Education, Family & Social Stratification.
BONUS RESOURCES:
Assessment Feedback Worksheets x2 (A4)
Please note:
These are not official exam scripts, I do not work for AQA: I have aimed to make reasonable practice exam-questions based on the specimen material already provided. The papers follow the official AQA format and look like official papers. All items are editable: if you think the 12-mark model-answers are too intimidating, feel free to reduce them.

This download is for GCSE Religious Studies teachers covering Buddhism as a comparative religion.
It is especially useful for teachers using the AQA/OCR exam specifications.
The workbook contains:
-Revision notes on all of the topics on the specification
-Revision activities
-A glossary of key-words
-A personal learning checklist
-Crosswords & key-word word-searches (just for fun!)
-An extensive selection of religious artwork
It is a 40 page Word document (easily amended, edited or added to).
It is intended to be printed as a double-sided A4 booklet and given to students as a revision aid.
It is ideal for teachers without textbooks, or who cannot allow students to take textbooks home. It can also be given to students at the start of the course and will help them with homework tasks and revision.
Positive reviews always greatly appreciated.

This resource is designed for the new AQA Philosophy Specification (7171) [AS-Level]
It covers the ‘Applied Ethics’ component of the course.
The course is structured as follows:
Lesson 1: General debates and discussions about the ethical issues listed in the specification
Lesson 2: Applying the normative theories to these issues (generally)
Lesson 3-6: Student led presentations (instructions and worksheets included)
Lesson 7: 'Ask the Experts’
Lesson 8: Debates & discussions about applying the normative theories to the ethical issues
Lesson 9: Formal Debates I
Lesson 10: Formal Debates II
Lesson 11: Essay planning masterclass
The download is a .zip file containing 8 PPTs and 10 worksheets (all editable) and an instructional guide outlining how the course should be delivered (a simple SoW/guide to the lessons). The .zip file maintains the order of the files so that very little preparation or planning is necessary.
The course is very much student-led; encouraging independent research skills and engagement with the issues.
It is designed to be used, ideally, after teaching of normative/meta-ethical theories has been completed so that students can apply their knowledge to the issues listed in the specification.
Presentation and resources have been designed to the highest level of professionalism. As always, I am taking requests for making new resources: just email me at godwin86@gmail.com and follow me to stay updated about further releases.
If you teach AQA Philosophy, you should join the Facebook group: “Philosophy Teachers UK (AQA A-Level)” which is the largest philosophy teachers group in the UK, there you can benefit from free resource sharing, advice from other teachers, as well as hearing about the latest premium releases.
I went through all my old resources to find relevant files for the ‘Religion & Life’ theme of new specification and compiled them into this 70+ file bundle. Resources focus on Christianity but I will be making new resources for Buddhism soon.
There are at least 10 full lessons to choose from in this bundle and much more aside from that.
Update: 2018
Please note that I have now released updated resource packs for the ‘Thematic Studies’ component of the GCSE course.
These can be found be clicking here.
They are considerably higher quality, better value and generally superior to these older files in every way so have a look!

I went through all my old resources to find relevant files for the ‘Relationships & Family’ theme of new specification and compiled them into this 40+ file bundle. Resources focus on Christianity but I will be making new resources for Buddhism soon.
Lessons include:
Weddings
Divorce
Homosexuality & Civil Partnership
Sec & Contraception
There is also a file with many ‘odds and ends’ that can be used for this section of the new AQA specification.

They are considerably higher quality, better value and generally superior to these older files in every way so have a look!
I have compiled a 147-page printable textbook for AS Level Religious Studies (Islam) using the latest OCR specification. Ideally this file should be printed and bound on double-sided colour A4 paper as a booklet for students.
It is for the 'Developments in Islamic Thought' section of the course. It features:
-Full course notes (some written myself, some taken from a variety online sources)
-URLs to recommended texts where they are available.
-A personal learning checklist listing the topics students are required to know about
-Practice exam questions for every section and topic
-Learning activities
-Islamic art, pictures & infographics.
This was compiled so that a textbook would not be necessary: it is suitable for course-notes or as a revision guide.
It took me ages to compile this document, and I know that textbooks are very expensive: so I hope this will save you both time and that purchasing this download will be a no-brainer for any teacher covering Islam at AS Level. Positive reviews are greatly appreciated!
Please note. I have had a few requests for AS-Level materials on Islam, if this resource sells well I intend to produce a full course - so please spread the word!
I welcome further resource requests: godwin86@gmail.com :)
I went through all my old resources to find relevant files for the ‘The Existence of God & Revelation’ theme of new specification and compiled them into this 90+ file bundle. Resources focus on Christianity but I will be making new resources for Buddhism soon.
Please note: most of the video files have been removed from this download due to space limitations (the maximum upload is about 200mb) - but the video files are all available on YouTube.

These can be found be clicking here.
They are considerably higher quality, better value and generally superior to these older files in every way so have a look!
This resource pack is the sum total of three years teaching OCR Philosophy & Ethics, and contains all resources necessary for the teaching of the philosophy half of the course: assuming your focus is on Christianity.
It contains over 200 files, covering both AS & A2.
Most of the resources have been made myself and cannot be found elsewhere. For copyright reasons I have not included the videos, instead I have included a file listing the relevant YouTube videos referred to in some lessons. Most topics have complete printable notes, most have PPTS or associated lessons, and Worksheets: some of the resources are offered as ‘works in progress’. A large variety of assessment materials and feedback tools have been included.
Certainly an excellent resource for new teachers of the subject, since this download contains everything I used whilst successfully teaching the subject myself.
Given the hundreds of hours that have gone into creating these resources I am proud to sell them at the very reasonable introductory price of £9.99
This bundle contains 18 revision sessions. The content covered by the sessions is the complete KS5 'Philosophy of Religion' and 'Religion & Ethics' material for both AS and A2 level under the new OCR specification.
Bundles for specific religions you may be covering can be purchased separately. This download is relevant to all KS5 Religious Studies teachers using the OCR specification as it deals with the philosophy and ethics components of the course.
The sessions use a variety of mind-mapping, discussion and debate tasks to cover the designated section of the specification.
The revision sessions can be used in a number of ways:
-As revision sessions during a revision period of term-time leading up to exams
-Sandwiched between lessons as they are taught throughout the year as a way of solidifying and assessing learning
-During extra-curricular time (KS5 Religious Studies Clubs)
This revision session features:
-A 'grid of learning' post-it task (to focus students on the day's topic and refresh their memories of the basics)
-A 'competitive mind-mapping task (which can be completed on the whiteboard or on A3 paper)
-A silent debate task (with 6 x A3 silent debate worksheets in an editable .doc file) [nb. allowing group conversation, instead of silence, is also an effective approach]
-Debates that ask students to move from one side of the room or the other and verbalise a defence of their position in response to a statement or rubric.
-A concluding 'One thing I am still uncertain about...' post-it question.
This session can be purchased individually or as part of various bundles depending on your needs.

Contents and tasks may vary slightly between revision sessions. The cover photo is, however, a fair depiction of the contents of the lesson.
