Exercises for A-level students to develop their writing skills using activities from ‘The Writing Revolution’ (Hochman and Wexler). This set of activities focusing on the second chapter of the book: ‘sentence expansion and note-taking: getting students to process what they’ve read.’ My own high-ability A-level English literature set have found this resource invaluable in helping them understand the writing process and improve their own writing across their A-levels.

This is the third resource I have created for this scheme. I would highly recommend completing activity 1 and 2 before attempting activity 3 as the skills build on each other.

A feedback lesson on the mini-mock I set my class (Section A of this exam - the 6/12/20 mark questions) on the first short half term of lessons (my lessons uploaded on the TES as Lessons 1-11).
This lesson talks through each question, providing students with a model answer and an opportunity to improve each of their own mock exam questions.
There is also an opportunity in the DNA/Plenary for students to reflect on the mock and share this with you as their teacher.

A whole lesson with activities looking at how marriage and divorce rates, law changes, attitudes etc have changed the types of families we now find in the UK.
