A short version of Alan’s Big Scary Teeth by Jarvis for use as a Talk 4 Writing model text in Key Stage 1. Emphasis on character description and included adverbs and time connectives too.
Also included is the story presented on slides with pictures as a story book.
Super fun to teach with actions. Innovations on this have been pirate themed and alien themed. Both produced great results from the children.
Short story inspired by ‘Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx’ linked to Ancient Egypt topic learning. Planned for Year 3, Term 1. Suitable for Y2-4.
Grammar - noun phrases, adjectives and prepositions for sessing description.

A model text for a persuasive writing unit based on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The text is approximately 200 words and includes writing tools such as:
Present tense
Adjectives for impact - superlatives
Connecting words (linking words) e.g. first, you could, also, finally
A question
Also included here is a picture story map to help learn and retell the model text, plus a visual slide show of the text with images.
You can innovate using other famous buildings, sites or locations.

A collection of 19 myths and legends from around the world. These are around 250 words each in length. They were created for Year 3 to learn and retell for an oral storytelling lesson. They could be used for many purposes in Years 1 to 6.
