This lesson focuses on adapting an image for use as a brush to be used in digital art projects or commercial resale. Learners will be shown the basics of creating brushes and how not to create a brush. Through acknowledging mistakes learners will be guided to appropriate action regarding design decisions. Learners will be encouraged to evaluate the benefit of creating their own brushes for artistic endeavour or commercial benefit. The session culminates with learners creating a brush set using a selection of images of smoke.
It is encouraged for learners to Photograph items for future brush sets and textures to be used at a later date.

An introduction to Adobe Animate 2017 with lesson plan and worksheet explaining core functions of the software. This lesson sheet could also be tailored to work with previous versions of adobe flash since the controls and layouts are exactly the same.
Learners create a simple animation using the characters of their name. The lesson details key framing and use of the timeline.
Learners develop their understanding of the Animate interface. Working with shapes learners create a simple animation.
Adobe Animate lesson 2 with lesson plan and comprehensive worksheet detailing core functions of the software. The concept of keyframes is developed in this lesson, automation and graphic objects. This session provides foundational skills in animation and the Animate Software. These worksheets could also be tailored for use with previous versions such as Adobe Flash.

Learners create a Magazine cover using the worksheet and source materials provided. The are encouraged to be creative with text and attempt to fulfil the task to a reasonably professional level.
This session is a continuation of the hair cut out tutorial using channels however it can be used as a standalone session with the source material included.

This is a rudimentary lesson which familiarises learners with a basic understanding of blending modes. Learners will practise opening and combining images in Photoshop using blend modes to affect the light and dark areas of the image.

This lesson demonstrates the essential Photoshop skill of creating a selection by using channels. Whilst Photoshop has many tools to create quick selections it is not always appropriate to use them for refined images containing complex selections. In this lesson, Learners will work with channels to create a selection and refine it to a professional standard.

I have created a very in depth handout for this session, explaining many key concepts including the preparatory stage (refining selection ready for image editing) and detailing composite layers and extra touches to finalise the image, creating interest. This session ideally builds upon previous knowledge but could also be used in isolation, given the depth covered in the handout.

This is a great creative session, familiarising learners with key Photoshop skills. The handout covers in depth selection and refining selection, blending, masking and colour toning - explaining key concepts throughout.

A fun creative Lesson with Extensive Learner Worksheet, Lesson Plan and Source Materials
The session conceptualises original artwork creation using original and found source material. It may be used as a stand alone lesson or in conjunction with my other sessions. The Handout worksheet is expanded to explain the key concepts.
Learners are directed to complete a multi-layered composition, which adheres to design considerations. The focus of the lesson is in two sections – one detailing brush creation from the example image and the second section building texture and using the brushes to create the outcome.
