Hello and thanks for popping by. I am currently working in a fantastic SEN school. I have worked teaching little minds from EYFS to 18 years old. I have taught inner city, EAL, high FSM/PP, and across many ages in different role. I love working with children! I hope my resources manage to save time and encourage children to think creatively. The children I have taught so far have loved them and I hope yours do too. Thanks for viewing or buying and please leave reviews if you find the time.

This worksheet is aimed at allowing children to complete sentences with words other than said. For lower ability children it can show them how the word said can be used in a sentence. This worksheet can also be used alongside the story ‘Lottie and Lou the Cockatoo’ by Joanne Deane. The book contains lots of alternative words for children to use for the word ‘said’. Here are a few ways to use this resource: • Read only the short ‘oo’ word book cards and place onto the short ‘oo’ word shelf. • For an extra challenge sort all the short ‘oo’ word book cards onto the shelf but mix some other word book cards into the sorting activity. • Sort the different ‘oo’ book cards between the long and short ‘oo’ word shelves.

As part of our topic we invited parents and carers into school to come and view the children’s art work for the term. For one of the English lessons we wrote a invitation for the children to write in their books and re-copy in their best handwriting and take home with them.

Alien and real words phonics resources

Here is a resource I created to help support the teaching of real words and alien words. The 2nd and 3rd page can be laminated and placed back to back to use with a white board pen during phonics lessons. You can also do the same with the smaller cards and ask the children or child to show you if the word is an alien word or a real word. Thank you so much for downloading and if you find the time please leave a review.
