Here is a practical activity i used in my year 1/2 classroom. The children worked both in groups and independently to record their answers on white boards. I used these in the maths free play area. They are colour coordinated to show odd and even numbers. I also taped a ten frame to the floor area for the children to place the spiders into the correct places. I hope these help other people too. Activity Idea This resource can be used by turning the cards over and asking the children taking part to select a random card. Ask them to count how many beans they can see on their card and write the number in the bean tin. After compare the selected cards and ask the children to say who has the most and who has the fewest/ least. I hope this saves you some time and if you find the time please leave a review.

Here is a fun resource you can place on your classroom door to make the morning greeting more fun. The children can read the number as a word or number sentence to press the correct number. This can be changed weekly or daily. You could even ask the children to press one more or one less than a number you say or read the number as a word to them.
