English lessons for KS3 and KS4. A mixture of creative writing, literature and language analytical lessons. I like to use the GCSE literature options as a stimulus for creative writing.

An Inspector Calls 2 - Creative writing exercise

A creative writing lesson for KS4. I use it at the end of the module as a fun way to look at the themes of An Inspector Calls, develop creative writing skills and to write in the style of another author. A series of questions that incorporate knowledge of An Inspector Calls as well as developing creative writing skills. This can take two lessons if you go through every step in depth or you can whizz through the questions and get it done in one lesson. I like to give some of them a chance to act out a scene from their new play.

A lesson that questions what questions need to be asked with the AQA GCSE Unseen Poetry question. By looking at one poem this lesson gets the students to focus on what questions they would need to ask themselves in order to access the deeper meaning and message of any poem. Uses the AQA assessment objectives and marking criteria to inform tasks.
