Woodwork Hand Tools - Looking for something to leave for a casual or relief teacher for your Timber or Woodwork class? Or maybe something to use as a quick filler activity? This resource, focusing on activities to teach about the various hand planes students may use in your woodwork class. They have been designed to be used as short activities when a casual or cover lesson needs to be quickly organised or could be used when students cannot complete practical activities with the remainder of the class. This resource includes a number of worksheets relating to various woodworking hand planes. (See the list below). They have been designed to be used as short activities when a casual or cover lesson needs to be quickly organised or could be used when students cannot complete practical activities with the remainder of the class. If you cant be there to teach your class, you will at least be confident that your students will be actively involved in their learning for a whole lesson. This set is one of a series of Emergency style themed worksheet sets available in the Tasstudent store. When to use this resource When a Casual or cover lesson needs to be quickly organised. When students cannot complete practical activities with the remainder of the class. (eg- Incorrect footwear) When a student has completed an activity early and you need a meaningful fill in activity. What do I need to do to use this resource? This resource is easy to use and prepare as all the worksheets just need to be printed out. Each new worksheet or handout has space for the student to write their name and date. What will I get in this set? Currently there are 7 activities that can be selected to provide your class. This resource includes 6 different sheets each depicting an Australian Designer who have made significant achievements in their chosen industry. The worksheets are designed to help students research using the Internet and other sources, gain an understanding of the life of the designer. The activity is intended to be used as a research activity but could also be used as a reading comprehension activity, a homework task, a pre-test of knowledge or a post test to test content retention. There are many other ways that a teacher may be able to use this and similar activities in the TPD store. Designers included in this resource are: Harry Seidler Marc Newson Sibella Court Akira Isogawa Collette Dinnigan Carla Zampetti How could this activity be used? The sheets all depict different Australian designers. It would be possible to distribute all 6 resources randomly around the class for students to complete their own independent research, or, alternatively, the teacher may choose to create small groups who will work together on the biography of one of the presented designers. Students can conduct individual research using their personal device, the school computer room or by utilising the school library. You may wish to have the students work in groups of two or individually to complete the work sheet.3. Students can be called on to provide answers to questions following their research. The teacher may wish to use the worksheet as a pre test, testing knowledge that the students may have prior to study. The worksheet could be provided as a homework task The worksheet can be used as an emergency extra or substitute lesson when the usual teacher is not present. Students can be given a writing task after conduction research to write a short biography using information they have gathered.
