Originally planned for Cambridge A-level students but could easily be adapted for other syllabuses and age ranges. Lesson includes PowerPoint with teacher notes, worksheets and video clips. The lesson considers an introduction to key themes, how to apprioach a general essay question (with example paragraph) as well as a consideration of key events in the chapters. Please see my other lessons for worksheets, quotes etc. on the novel itself.

These two lessons explore Act 5, considering the development of the character of the Duke, key quotations and critics, themes, sex and desire and character maps. Included in the lessons are worksheets, extracts, videos and full-lesson powerpoints with teacher notes. These lessons were planned for my maternity and so are slightly less interactive than my previous ones (though still detailed and fully-resourced); therefore two lessons have been included here.

Planned for Cambridge A-level students but could easily be adapted. This lesson leads from an introduction to The Gothic (also available for sale) and introduces the first chapter. The lesson focuses around aspects of love, the importance of setting and how the chapter serves as an opening to the novel (focused around characters, setting, language, themes and voice). The lesson ends with students starting to collate information about their first impressions of Wuthering Heights.

The lesson includes close language analysis of chapter 6, questions for discussion/response and a starter based around the connotations of names.

This was a shorter lesson and planned as the first back after a holiday, so the content is briefer than others in the SOW.
