GCSE FRENCH: 11 Beginner + French Dictées

(0)
Here are eleven beginner + level French dictations to use with your students. These dictations are not very long. Each dictation is a separate audio file. Answer key and translation provided for each dictation. Sample dictation: TITRE : Mon ami TEXTE : Mon ami Patrick est fils unique. Patrick est mon meilleur ami. À l'école, je travaille toujours avec lui. Nous nous aidons beaucoup. TRADUCTION: My friend Patrick is an only child. Patrick is my best friend. At school, I always work with him. We help each other a lot. "Dictation is the transcription of spoken text: one person who is "dictating" speaks and another who is "taking dictation" writes down the words as they are spoken. Among speakers of several languages, dictation is used as a test of language skill, similar to spelling bees in the English-speaking world."

This product includes: How to play 80 playing cards in color 80 playing cards in black and white File showing one card per page to project for all class activity The game is played in two teams. The goal for each player is to get their team to say the word or word phrase displayed on the game card. One member of a team starts a timer for 5 minutes and tries to get his or her team to guess the displayed word or phrase. A clue-giver can make any physical gesture and give almost any verbal clue, but may not say a word that rhymes with any of the words, give the first letter of a word, say the number of syllables, or say part of any word in the clue. When the team guesses correctly, the other team takes the stack of cards and takes its turn. Play continues until the timer runs out. The team not holding the stack of cards when time runs out scores a point. They also have one chance to guess the word or phrase, with team members allowed to confer; a correct answer earns a bonus point. The first team to score 7 points wins. French Taboo game - Le Petit Prince

Playing games and having fun is when learning really happens in French class. I love to play the game Taboo with my students. French Taboo is a game that is easy to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. This Taboo set is about the wonderful and delightful classic story of the Petit Prince written by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. This Taboo set Special le Petit Prince edition includes 167 Vocabulary words translated as well as files in French only. Great for Immersion schools! Object of the game One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can’t use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. The teams take turn guessing and verifying no Taboo words have been used. You can also play this game in pairs if everyone agrees not to cheat. Beginner students should be allowed to use the French TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues. You can also have your students study the vocabulary on the cards! Qui suis-je? Interactive activity for advanced French students

(0)
Qui suis-je? Interactive activity for advanced secondary French students 75 cards with detailed descriptions of common nouns using higher level French Use cards to have students work in pairs or small groups. Use PDF with one card per page to project and use as a whole class activity. Cards feature detailed descriptions for students to read and have others guess the noun that has been described. Higher level grammar and vocabulary used in descriptions helps more advanced students get more exposure to grammar in context while having a lot of fun! While it is good to have students come up with their own descriptive sentences in French, sometimes it’s just as great to have them read descriptions aloud to each other. Students will see advanced grammar in use and will understand new vocabulary words through context. This is a unique way to improve when students have already been exposed to a lot of grammar. Here are a few examples: Les voyageurs m’aiment beaucoup parce que je suis très utile quand on veut parcourir de longues distances. On ne me conduit pas. On me pilote. Qui suis-je? **Je suis un avion! ** J’existe pour aider les gens qui ne voient pas très bien. Ils me posent sur leur nez. J’ai deux verres pour les aider à mieux voir. Qui suis-je? **Je suis les lunettes! ** This resource can be used over and over, and since there are so many cards you will have plenty of variety. The grammar varies from card to card, so you can easily pick and choose which ones you would like to use for different levels. VERB RACE is a fun and very exciting way to practice IMPERATIVE TENSE conjugations. Your students are going to love this set of 75 French verbs to use in the fast moving VERB RACE GAME. This set includes 75 common -ER, -IR and -RE verbs as well as the verbs AVOIR, ÊTRE, VOULOIR and SAVOIR. Classic verb race involves dividing the class into teams and one person from each team goes up to the board to conjugate faster than everyone else. I've included full instructions, tips and rules with this resource. VERB RACE has always been a huge favorite in my classroom. In classic VERB RACE it is usually the teacher who moderates the game, but in the instructions I'll explain in great detail how you can play a student led game so that even your weakest students can participate and learn a ton. I'm including a powerpoint version of the game WITHOUT ANSWERS and student response sheets should you want to project the game and play as a class or in small groups without moving out of desks and up to the board. Also with this resource you'll receive 75 task cards without responses (answer key included). You can use these cards in STATIONS, in a game of SCOOT or in classic BOARD GAMES. I recommend printing out the cards, laminating them if possible, cutting them out, punching holes in the space provided and hooking them together with a ring for years of NO PREP usage and verb conjugation review. Here's exactly what you get: 75 calling cards with answers - Black and white and color versions provided 75 numbered task cards without answers - Black and white and color versions provided Powerpoint version of 75 cards without answers How to play and other ways to use the cards Student response sheet Answer key
