✮ Noël - Christmas - French I’d rather game for primary and secondary ✮ This resource includes two sets of 35 I’d rather - Qu’est-ce que tu préférerais cards. You get a total of 70 cards for the price of one set. One set is for primary and the other set is for secondary. A few of the cards are the same as they can appeal to different age groups. You may want to mix them all up and use all of the cards as a big set for secondary (taking out the doubles). These sets of cards will strike up some interesting conversations, and they can be used year after year. All cards are only in French, so they are perfect both for French core and immersion programs. This resource is part of my Noël Resource Bundle which will save you TONS and provide you with lots of resources to use over and over again. Joyeux Noël!!

French Pronouns: Direct, Indirect, Y, En - 150 Practice Cards in 3 tenses This is a set of 150 French pronoun practice cards. These cards are written in the present, futur proche, and passé composé tenses and do not include negation. There are 75 cards to practice using the French pronouns Y and EN in three different tenses. These practice cards will help students better understand when to use Y and EN in many different situations. There are 75 cards to practice using French direct and indirect object pronouns in three different tenses. These practice cards focus on using: LE - LA - LES - LUI - LEUR. These practice cards will help students better understand when to use LE or LA to mean HIM or HER instead of LUI, and LES to mean THEM instead of LEUR. Each card indicates a subject pronoun, verb in the infinitive form, and another word or words to complete the sentence. Students first form a sentence using the elements provided, then they restate the sentence using either LUI - LEUR - LE - LA - LES - Y - EN. A four page answer key is provided. I recommend printing them on the front and back side of two sheets of paper so that you can easily distribute them to students for them to check their own work. This is an activity that students can work on alone or in pairs or small groups. My students really like to do this activity with a partner. One student says the sentence without the pronoun, then the other one says it with the pronoun. They take turns going back and forth. EXAMPLES: PRÉSENT - JE - ALLER - LA FAC Je vais à la fac. Noël - Christmas - French 20 questions game - No prep speaking activity The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions and in this version of the game, students will learn over 50 nouns and verbs that follow a Noël - Christmas theme. This game work for any level as it is written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version! Included: 1 version with vocabulary written in French and English 1 version with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity. This game includes 52 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they’ve played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. EST-CE QUE……. … c’est une personne? … c’est un animal? … c’est un minéral? … c’est un endroit? … c’est un aliment? … c’est une plante? … c’est un objet? The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.

The video is not my property and is not downloadable with this resource. You will need to watch it online. The video is about 4 minutes long, and this resource includes one page with 10 questions in English to share with your students for discussion about Christmas foods, traditions, and preferences prior to watching the video. The second page includes 10 questions written in English to be answered while watching the video. There is a vocabulary list in French and English of all 23 French words introduced in the video. Finally, to wrap up the lesson there is a fun crossword puzzle to complete. The clues are given in English and the answers are in French without articles. Advanced French conversation questions - L’Avenir - Le Futur Part of our series of discussions ciblées for advanced French students. List of 35 vocabulary words related to l’avenir - le futur with 20 thought provoking discussion questions. The questions are suitable for upper level and AP French or for middle and high school French immersion. This resource is especially useful for your chapter technology and the future. I like to print the list of words on one side of a page and the questions on the other side so that students can easily refer to the new vocabulary during their conversations. If you make a two sided copy everything will fit on one page. A page with French vocabulary and no English translation for immersion programs is included. Also included is are two sets of speaking cards for students to use prior to using the discussion so that they can become familiar with the theme and many new words. The cards just need to be printed and cut out so that your students can use them in pairs or small groups. Each card says, “Décris le mot suivant en français et ton partenaire le devinera.” The vocabulary word is written both in French and English since many of the words will be new. This exposure to the vocabulary will make the discussion that follows flow easier. Students will still have easy access to the list of words on the other side of the photocopied questions. A French only file of these cards is also included, and these include images. Partitive, definite, and indefinite French articles - 75 practice cards This is a set of 75 cards to have your students practice choosing between partitive, definite, and indefinite articles with food and drinks. All cards are written in the present tense and use the same food vocabulary found in my 20 questions game that also is meant to practice the French partitive. Each card has a sentence in which students fill in the blank using the correct article. Verbs of preference are used for definite articles. There are also plenty of expressions of quantity and negation used in this set of practice cards. These cards are only in French, so they are suitable for core French or immersion classes. Included: 75 cards to print and cut out PDF with only one card per page for projecting or using on tablets Answer key Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the cards and use them as a whole class activity.

This is an easy to play 30 minute dice game to practice the French verbs SORTIR - DORMIR - COURIR - PARTIR - SERVIR - SENTIR. I have included six different versions of this game in six tenses: present, passé composé, imperfect, simple future, conditional and present subjunctive. You can use this game with beginners and advanced students alike. Just choose the tenses you want to work with, et voilà! My high school students love this game, and it can get very competitive if you decide to play it as a race (details are explained with the activity). Students divide up into teams and play a dice game, the dice determining which subject and infinitive to conjugate in the tense indicated.
