Playing French TABOO is a great way to get students to speak French and learn a lot of new vocabulary. This game is simple to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. The them of this TABOO game is L'ÉTÉ. 30 French-English cards are included. There are 2 fun ways to play this fun vocabulary game and both are explained in the instructions. All of the words on the cards are in French and English. This is very useful as many of the words will be new to students. This French Taboo game includes the following: How to play classic Taboo (beginner and advanced levels) 30 Taboo game cards to print, cut out and laminate if possible (black and white and color versions) How to play 15 MINUTES MAX - an alternative version of the game 15 MINUTES MAX game board Sheet to record new words in French and English (nouveaux mots) *In the upper left corner there's a spot for you to punch holes in the cards so that you can then attach them with a ring for no prep use every time. Be sure to laminate if at all possible! Object of the game: One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

GCSE FRENCH: AU RESTAURANT French Speaking Activity: Est-ce que tu as déjà…?

Est-ce que tu as déjà…? Have you ever...? This French speaking activity is great for getting French 2 and 3 students to speak and practice their vocabulary when learning about RESTAURANTS. Students will also review the passé composé using AVOIR as helping verb when doing this activity. Your students will enjoy getting up and moving around the classroom as they ask their classmates questions that are listed on the grid. See full instructions for this resource below. This resource includes: One grid to print out and make one copy for each student in your class. There are sixteen squares on the grid. Each square contains one question and a space to write a classmate’s name. Instructions: Have your students move around the room asking classmates the questions that are written in the squares on the grid that you provide. If a classmate responds with OUI he or she writes his name on the line provided. Complete sentences are encouraged even when the answer is NON. Activity continues until all boxes are filled. Once all of the boxes have been signed your students can turn in their papers. This is a fun, interactive way to review vocabulary about LA VILLE and to practice using the passé composé. Your students will enjoy learning fun facts about their classmates, and you will certainly like hearing them speak French!

GCSE FRENCH: Noël - French Christmas SI CLAUSE Task Cards

(0)
When the holidays come around there's nothing else on everyone's mind, but it's a great time to incorporate French Christmas vocabulary into using SI CLAUSES! This is a set of 20 SI CLAUSE task cards that can be used at any level since you can have your students create 1st, 2nd or 3rd conditional SI CLAUSES. As you see in the previews above, the infinitives to be used on each task card are in infinitive form. You can either instruct students to use a particular type of SI CLAUSE or you can just leave them to use their imagination. The first part of the SI CLAUSE is provided to inspire creativity on the second part. French Christmas vocabulary is used in this set of task cards and images are provided in case some of the vocabulary is new. There are 20 task cards to print out, cut and laminate for use year after year. In the upper left corner of each card there is a place to guide you in punching holes so that you can use a ring to hold the cards together. There are also 20 answer cards provided to include in the stack. They are numbered like the task cards. Given the creative nature of these task cards a whole answer cannot be provided. However, I have written what the first part of the SI CLAUSE should be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd conditional clauses. Included with this product: 20 French Christmas SI CLAUSE task cards in black and white (20 answer cards included) 20 French Christmas SI CLAUSE task cards in color (20 answer cards included) Numbered student response sheet (in case you want students to write their answers) LICENSING TERMS: This purchase includes a license for one teacher only for personal use in their classroom. EST-CE QUE……. … tu es une personne? … tu es un animal? … tu es un minéral? … tu es un endroit? … tu es un aliment? … tu es une plante? … tu es un objet? The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. You can use this classic game format to practice forming the PRESENT SUBJUNCTIVE. This resource includes 45 verbs. There are regular verbs and irregular verbs to practice with. 5 different versions of the game are included. *There is not an answer key included with this resource due to the number of responses possible. I encourage you to allow your students to use a resource that you choose for them to check your answers. If you’re not sure what to use I can highly recommend verb2verb.com. This resource includes 5 versions of the game with both black and white and color copies and instructions on how to play. All battleship games are also sold separately for $3.50 each. Check out my collection of BATAILLE NAVALE games! Just print out one page of the version you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats. Subject pronouns preceded by QUE are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the present subjunctive using either être or avoir as helping verb. All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they want to. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent.
