French -ER Verbs Storyboard Listening Comprehension and Writing Activity

(0)
This is a listening comprehension activity focusing on regular -ER verbs in the present tense and is meant to be used with beginner French students. Students listen to the 15 pre-recorded present tense sentences being read and they draw what they hear in the student response sheet provided, then they write the infinitive form of the -ER verb being used in the sentence. This activity can be used for listening comprehension and written production at the same time, instructions included. If your students have access to colored pencils you may choose to use the recording that indicates which color they should use to draw. The color they should use is clearly indicated in French at the beginning or appropriate time in the reading of the sentence. Some students will say they can’t draw, but stick figures should be encouraged! None of the sentences represent a real drawing challenge. Included in this French listening comprehension resource: Instructions Pre-recorded MP3 version of 15 sentences without use of colors - perfect resource to alternatively use as a dictée Pre-recorded MP3 version of 15 sentences with use of colors 15 sentences written for teacher use Student response sheet No answer key is provided for the drawings due to the nature of the activity. However, assessment is very simple for the teacher! All you have to do is glance over the drawings. An answer key is provided for written responses should you opt to use this as a dictation exercise. French Prepositions of Location Reading Exercise and Writing Worksheet

(0)
As your students learn French prepositions of location it is nice to have several exercises and activities planned to get in as much practice as possible. This is a reading exercise about a tidy bedroom and a writing exercise about an untidy one. Give your students the list of French prepositions of location and provide them with the quizlet study set I’ve made to help them practice and master the new vocabulary. There is a paragraph to read about a tidy bedroom. The idea is to see if students can figure out what it means even if they don’t know all of the vocabulary. The prepositions of location are used as context clues. The next part of this activity is to have students write a paragraph of their own about the image provided featuring an untidy bedroom. A list of useful vocabulary is provided and a quizlet study set as well. This list of vocabulary itemizes everything you see in the bedroom so that students can focus on the writing activity rather than looking up words in the dictionary. Students write ten complete statements about the untidy bedroom.
