French Practice Cards: BON - BIEN - MEILLEUR - MIEUX

French Practice Cards: BON - BIEN - MEILLEUR - MIEUX

(0)
French Practice Cards: BON - BIEN - MEILLEUR - MIEUX This is a set of 65 cards for practicing and mastering BON - BIEN - MEILLEUR - MIEUX. This set of cards uses bon and bien as well as their comparative forms meilleur and mieux, but also a whole lot more (see below). That’s why this stack of cards is great for upper-intermediate and even advanced students! This resource does not incorporate the superlative. When using meilleur and mieux, we are really focusing on how to say “better” in French. This is always so hard since we use the same word in English whether we are using adverbs or adjectives. I have also made a 45 minute video that you can find on YouTube that would be perfect to show before pulling out these cards which I made specifically to accompany this very comprehensive lesson. I’m including a handy 3 page study guide to accompany the lesson and this set of cards. Topics covered: Comparing with bon and meilleur Comparing with bien and mieux Using bon and meilleur as adverbs with the verbs faire and sentir Using bien with se sentir Using all four forms with the linking verbs être and avoir l’air Using bon to say something is right or correct Using bien to mean “really” before bon and certain other adjectives Using bien when talking about approach, method, style, and technique Practicing the difference between saying C’est bien and C’est bon Included: Set of 65 cards to print and cut out Set of the same 65 cards with only one per page for use on tablets or for projecting 3 page lesson guide with rules and examples Link to YouTube lesson Student answer recording sheet

French jeopardy game - French passé composé of irregular verbs with avoir Jeopardy game for practicing irregular French verbs that use avoir as helping verb in the passé composé (see list of verbs used below). Half of the questions include simple negation using ne…pas. You’re going to love this powerpoint jeopardy game with all the bells and whistles. It even includes music, daily double and final jeopardy questions. Have a look at the video preview to see EVERYTHING that is included in this fun game! This is a version that I’ve worked out the kinks on for the last 20 years of playing it with my students. The answers don’t have to be given in the form of a question unless you want to play that way. My students absolutely love this game, and so do I. They get very excited about it and always look forward to JEOPARDY DAY. Some of the harder questions involve using subjects like QUI - QUELQU’UN - MES PARENTS ET MOI - TES AMIS ET TOI. Here are the verbs used in this Jeopardy game: faire pleuvoir falloir lire dire écrire rire sourire mettre permettre prendre comprendre apprendre voir pouvoir recevoir vouloir boire croire courir devoir vivre ouvrir souffrir suivre dormir conduire détruire traduire avoir I have included detailed directions, rules and tips for game playing. This game is a lot of fun after having spent time teaching the passé composé. I’ve spent years working out the best way to play this game in a classroom setting, and it works so well that I went into a lot of detail in the instructions. The game includes 6 categories, a daily double, and a final jeopardy question. If you have any questions at all about the game, please do feel free to write to me: french@lovelearninglanguages.com

Les Loisirs - French 20 questions game - No prep speaking activity The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions. This version of the game focuses on 52 nouns and verbs which are all about the les loisirs / hobbies / pastimes. This game work for any level as it is written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version! Included: 1 version with vocabulary written in French and English 1 version with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity. This game includes 52 words. Many of the words may be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they’ve played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. You could also photocopy a two sided version, one with English and French and the other with French only. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.
