French present subjunctive battleship games

(1)
French present subjunctive battleship games Everyone loves a good game of BATTLESHIP, and the French classroom is a better place than any! You can use this classic game format to practice forming the PRESENT SUBJUNCTIVE. This resource includes 45 verbs. There are regular verbs and irregular verbs to practice with. 5 different versions of the game are included. *There is not an answer key included with this resource due to the number of responses possible. I encourage you to allow your students to use a resource that you choose for them to check your answers. If you’re not sure what to use I can highly recommend verb2verb.com. This resource includes 5 versions of the game with both black and white and color copies and instructions on how to play. All battleship games are also sold separately for $3.50 each. Check out my collection of BATAILLE NAVALE games! Just print out one page of the version you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats. Subject pronouns preceded by QUE are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the present subjunctive using either être or avoir as helping verb. All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they want to. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent. The environment - 20 questions game - Earth Day - No prep speaking activity

The environment - 20 questions game - Earth Day - No prep speaking activity The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming questions. In this version of the game students will practice asking questions about 30 different words related to the environment and pollution. This is a one page, no prep printable. This speaking and listening activity will work well with your chapter on the environment or for Earth Day. Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and do a whole class activity. Many of the words will likely be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice asking questions, but also to build and reinforce vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words written on the chart. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. EST-CE QUE……. … tu es une personne? … tu es un animal? … tu es un minéral? … tu es un endroit? … tu es un aliment? … tu es une plante? … tu es un objet? … etc The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: YES - NO - SOMETIMES - RARELY - GENERALLY - MAYBE - IT DEPENDS - PROBABLY Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.
