Playing French TABOO is a great way to get students to speak French and learn a lot of new vocabulary. This game is simple to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. In this L'AÉROPORT ET LA GARE theme version of the game there 30 French-English cards. There are 2 fun ways to play this fun vocabulary game and both are explained in the instructions. How to play classic Taboo (beginner and advanced levels) 60 Taboo game cards to print, laminate, cut out and hook together with a ring Black and white and color versions included How to play 15 MINUTES MAX - an alternative version of the game 15 MINUTES MAX game board Sheet to record new words in French and English (nouveaux mots) *In the upper left corner there's a spot for you to punch holes in the cards so that you can then attach them with a ring for no prep use every time. Be sure to laminate if at all possible! Object of the game: One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

Have your students unscramble words to make grammatically sound sentences in French. This exercise / worksheet includes ten sentences to unscramble and focuses on using the verb AVOIR in the present tense. Some of the sentences include negation. The sentences are 10 to 14 words in length and are a good challenge for beginners. This exercise is also great to use as a review. You could even cut out the sentences into strips and use them as bell-ringers, exit slips or a fun scoot game.

Practice is what it takes when learning verb conjugations. This audio recorded drill will help students practice and master regular and irregular French verbs in the passé composé. There is a mixture of verbs that use avoir and être as helping verb, and reflexive verbs are included. This is a verb drill of 100 common French verbs that you can use either in the classroom or language lab. I've included five great ways for you to use this drill. The audio recording you will download will be great for listening comprehension and oral production, written exercises, paired work and even a cooperative learning group writing game. Everyone loves a good game of BATTLESHIP, and the French classroom is a better place than any! You can use this classic game format to have your students practice the imperfect tense. This game is perfect for both core and immersion curriculums and everything written on the games is in French. *There is not an answer key included with this resource due to the number of responses possible. I encourage you to allow your students to use a resource that you choose for them to check your answers. If you're not sure what to use I can highly recommend verb2verb.com. This resource includes 40 regular and irregular verbs. 5 different versions of the game are included. ust print out one page of the version of this game that you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats. Subject pronouns are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the imperfect tense. Another idea is to have students make simple sentences using the subject pronoun and verb of choice. All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they want to. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent. This resource includes 5 versions of the game with both black and white and color copies.
