Cherchez l'erreur - Identify and correct common mistakes in French

(0)
Cherchez l'erreur - Identify and correct common mistakes in French ⇨ 50 French sentences with grammatical errors ⇨ English translations of what the French sentences are SUPPOSED to mean ⇨ Students look for the mistakes and rewrite the sentences correctly ⇨ Audio recording - Hear English sentences to be translated, pause to translate and speak response, listen and repeat correct French translation read twice to improve fluency and pronunciation ⇨ Teacher support guide - 21 pages of notes about each of the 50 sentences to help teachers explain to students why the sentences are incorrect As you teach French, do you find that over the years you hear students making the same kinds of grammar mistakes over and over again? English speaking students in particular often make the same kinds of mistakes. Here are just a few examples of common mistakes I've heard time and again over the last 20 years teaching French: ⭐ Je voudrais un verre de l'eau avec glaçons. ⭐ On aime des pommes et des bananes. ⭐ J'arrive chez toi autour de 17h00. ⭐ Nous sommes sur l'avion déjà. ⭐ Tu attends pour le bus? ⭐ Je pense de ton problème. ⭐ Nous nous lavons nos mains. ⭐ Je la donne un cadeau. You've probably seen the same kinds of mistakes with your students. Very often, mistakes that are made go back to basic French that wasn't mastered when it was introduced for the first time. This activity offers an excellent opportunity to revisit lots of basic grammar that otherwise often gets ignored as we progress through the chapters and more advanced grammar. I like to use this kind of activity at back to school for returning students or at the end of a quarter or semester as a solid review. 3 Resources
These are 3 listening comprehension activities focusing on regular ER, IR and RE verbs in the present tense and they are meant to be used with beginner French students. These activities can be used for listening comprehension and written production at the same time, instructions included. If your students have access to colored pencils you may choose to use the recordings that indicate which color they should use to draw. The color they should use is clearly indicated in French at the beginning or appropriate time in the reading of the sentence. Some students will say they can’t draw, but stick figures should be encouraged! None of the sentences represent a real drawing challenge. Included in this French listening comprehension resource bundle: Instructions Pre-recorded MP3 version of 15 sentences without use of colors - perfect resource to alternatively use as a dictée Pre-recorded MP3 version of 15 sentences with use of colors 15 sentences written for teacher use Student response sheets No answer keys are provided for the drawings due to the nature of the activity. French Pronoun 300 Practice Cards BUNDLE: Direct, Indirect, Y & EN
jenniferlcrespinjenniferlcrespin

French Pronoun 300 Practice Cards BUNDLE: Direct, Indirect, Y & EN

3 Resources
French Pronoun 300 Practice Cards BUNDLE: Direct, Indirect, Y & EN This bundle is a set of 300 French pronoun practice cards. These cards are written in the present, futur proche, and passé composé tenses and do not include negation. There are 75 cards to practice using the French pronouns Y and EN in three different tenses. These practice cards will help students better understand when to use Y and EN in many different situations. It’s helpful to use this stack of cards when you’re really focusing on Y and EN. There are 75 cards to practice using French direct and indirect object pronouns in three different tenses. These practice cards focus on using: LE - LA - LES - LUI - LEUR. These practice cards will help students better understand when to use LE or LA to mean HIM or HER instead of LUI, and LES to mean THEM instead of LEUR. It’s nice to have a stack of cards that only deals with these five direct object pronouns. There is also a stack of 150 cards in which all of the cards from the 2 previous stacks are mixed up, and there’s no indication whether students should use LUI - LEUR - LE - LA - LES - Y - EN. This is a real challenge, and it’s fantastic for test review. Each card indicates a subject pronoun, verb in the infinitive form, and another word or words to complete the sentence. Students first form a sentence using the elements provided, then they restate the sentence using either LUI - LEUR - LE - LA - LES - Y - EN. A four page answer key is provided. I recommend printing them on the front and back side of two sheets of paper so that you can easily distribute them to students for them to check their own work. This is an activity that students can work on alone or in pairs or small groups. My students really like to do this activity with a partner. One student says the sentence without the pronoun, then the other one says it with the pronoun. They take turns going back and forth. EXAMPLES: PRÉSENT - JE - ALLER - LA FAC Je vais à la fac. J’y vais. PASSÉ COMPOSÉ - TU - FAIRE - DU PIANO Tu as fait du piano. Tu en as fait. FUTUR PROCHE - ON - PARLER - DE NOËL On va parler de Noël. On va en parler. PRÉSENT - JE - PARLER - MARIE Je parle à Maris. Je lui parle. PASSÉ COMPOSÉ - TU - MANGER - PIZZA Tu as mangé la pizza. Tu l’as mangée. FUTUR PROCHE - VOUS - FINIR - DEVOIRS Vous allez finir vos devoirs. Vous allez les finir.

GCSE FRENCH: J'ai...Qui a? French Themed Vocabulary Games - BUNDLE

5 Resources
Want your French students to have some fun learning themed vocabulary from the chapters you study? Are you looking for a fun way for them to review vocabulary they've already learned? This NO PREP activity is a fun way to encourage your beginner to intermediate students to keep up with the vocabulary they learn. You can pull out these cards and use them as ice-breakers, bell-ringers, French club activities, games and much more. Here are the vocabulary themes of the games that are included : 1. La nourriture 2. Chez le médecin 3. Les vêtements 4. À la maison 5. En ville All sets include both beginner and intermediate version of the game. The beginner version has the words written out and the intermediate version only shows pictures. All sets include color and black and white versions. Depending on class size you could either give each student more than one card or have them play with a partner. I recommend printing out and laminating these cards if possible so that you can use them over and over again. Here's how this game works. Once each student has a card (or cards), the one who has the card that says JE COMMENCE starts the game. He says, for example, Je commence. J'ai le pantalon. Qui a les chaussures? The person who has the card with shoes on it says, J'ai les chaussures. Qui a le costume? And so the game goes on until the last card is called and that student's card will say, J'ai fini! Another idea is to prepare two sets of cards, divide your class into two groups and let each group have a go to see which team can get through the entire deck of cards the fastest. If the vocabulary is completely new you could start out with the beginner deck and as the words become more familiar you could move on to the intermediate level. It's really a lot of fun, and though you can play with younger students the older ones love this game just as much.

These 20 questions games are a fun, effective, NO PREP way to practice forming French questions. Click on individual game links for specific details on each version. This bundle saves you 50%. These games work for any level as they are written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version! Included with each game: 1 version with vocabulary written in French and English 1 version with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity. Many of the words may be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they’ve played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.
