A whole unit of work for Animals including Humans. There are a total of 15 lessons. The first half focuses on the human element and the second on animals. There are a range of worksheets that I have used over the past few years to support this unit. Some worksheets don't match the unit of work but included to support additional plans. There is also a risk assessment and letter to parents for bringing a pet into school. We had a bearded dragon and a tortoise! Enjoy!

With all the changes to the curriculum, I felt that my class needed something to relate to. I developed this growth mindset for the year 1 class and it worked a treat. This is the 2nd year we are doing it and it is now used in two different classes.

Bingo games for a small intervention group. Struggling with initial sounds and so a simple bingo game to help excite and engage the children into reading. 6 boards for each sound. The font is sassoon and the games are a pdf so it keeps format.

What makes a number? These visual aids help children to see what a number is. On the poster there are eight different ways to represent the number - word, base 10, ten frame, objects, tally, fingers, place value counters, dice face. I am encouraging children to use different ways to represent a number so that they understand the value each number rather than just recognising.
