I have taught all levels from kindergarten to adult continuing education. I love languages and am constantly working on improving and adding to them. I believe that if students have fun, they will learn faster and remember longer. I try to have students speak in the target language as much as possible during the limited time that they are in class.

10 powerpoint slides. No text involved; pictures only, so can be used for any language. First 5 slides are for first year; last 5 for second year (all I words repeated, with a few new ones added). Slides cover general clothing, sports clothing + shoes, accessories. Pictures quickly appear then disappear & students are to ID them. Slide 3 is 1 and 2 combined. 5 is 1, 2, 4 combined. Total of 41 different words.

This is a paper version of Connect Four. Students play in pairs. Students must correctly identify the coordinates of the square (soccer and checkers). Make the game more challenging by having the students form sentences. If wrong, the partner gets the square. Partners alternate turns. The goal is to get 4 squares in a row. Other than the title, the game is all pictures, so it may be used with any language. Vocabulary used: biking, checkers, skating, cards, jogging/running, chess, swimming, video games, soccer, golf, baseball, tennis, football, volleyball, hockey, basketball. Second version in grayscale.
