This is a mixer activity; there are 12 unique student sheets (6 pages). Each student has 3 foods / drinks in French to survey classmates about how much they like the item. Students are to record answers received. Students must also answer their classmates’ questions using beaucoup, pas tellement, pas du tout.

PowerPoint has notes on using ne ... rien and ne ... personne in the present tense. There are several slides to practice choosing and using the correct expression. There are also notes on rien ne and personne ne, with slides to practice.

One partner has a puzzle with all of the vertical words filled in and the other has all of the horizontal words. Partners take turns creating their own definitions so that their partner can complete the puzzle.

Students mingle until they find their twin, the one other person with the exact same statements. Includes 18 unique sets of twins. This is a low-stress activity focusing on speaking and listening. This is a larger version of my Connect 4 games. It can be played by 2 or 3 students at a time. A box is won if the student correctly conjugates the verb to agree with the given subject. Students try to get 4 boxes in a row. Continue game until someone gets 4 Connect 4s, or until all possibilities of 4 in a row are exhausted.

Connect 4 game for 2-3 players. Students must correctly conjugate the verb to win the square. Goal is to win four squares in a row four times.

Print on cardstock and cut into cards. J’ai faim and j’ai soif cards are mixed, face down in 1 pile. Foods and drinks in a second pile, face down. 1 student picks a card from the first pile and reads it (J’ai faim / soif). 2nd student picks from 2nd pile and says Je voudrais and translate the word to French. Class decides if it is logical or not.

This is a partner activity. Students take turns guessing squares in order to find the opponent’s ships. In order to guess a square, the student must correctly give the time [hours are in the left column and minutes are across the top]. Winner is the first student to find and sink all 5 of his opponent’s ships.

This game uses pictures for 16 chores. Students must identify the picture (use in sentences to make it more challenging) as they advance along the snail path. Just pictures are given, so it is easy to adapt for each textbook. Pictures represent: to dust, to vacuum, to sweep, to take the garbage out, to set the table, to clear the table, to load the dishwasher, to unload the dishwasher, to wash the dishes, to make the bed, to clean your room, the clean the bathroom, to do the grocery shopping, to cook, to do the laundry, to mow the lawn.
