A lesson which aims to challenge pupils to think independently through using Blooms Taxonomy to challenge. Pupils will use Blooms to create their own levels of questioning.

An introduction lesson to War of the Worlds. Great for both KS3 and KS4 as you can adapt the lesson to fit the needs of your pupils. The lesson focuses on the pupils making predictions based around certain images included on the powerpoint. These images link to the radio broadcast of War of the Worlds. Pupils then listen to the radio broadcast to see for themselves and answer some empathic questions based around the broadcast.

A creative writing lesson mixed focusing on imitating how Steinbeck skillfully portrays a sense of danger within his setting.

A lesson which allows pupils to recall plot through spotting lies/errors on the PowerPoint. Exam question on relationships with extract included, along with a high level, colour coded response with a worksheet for the pupils to fill in as well. Can easily be adapted to suit lower ability through adapting my response.

A lesson focusing on our first impressions of Capulet and Tybalt. Pupils had empathy towards Juliet and her situation, read the script and figured out how they felt towards Capulet and Paris before looking at some context. Final task focused on creativity of modernising the script and seeing whether this changed things.

An easy to follow lesson which focuses on the pupils exploring the prologue of Romeo and Juliet. Key discussion on why an opening to a play is important before a task which enables the pupils to take control of their own learning to figure out exactly what the prologue means and what the play will be about. Can be easily adapted. Worksheet included.

Ideal for foundation (Year 7 and 8). A newspaper report based around the concept of Miranda and Prospero going missing. Full plan of how to gather the ideas based around the report on the Powerpoint and a model response included.

Lesson designed to cater to low ability GCSE class studying the theme of poverty in ACC. Lesson requires pupils to follow a step by step process of identifying key moments of poverty, matching key quotations to the theme (quotations provided), exploring the quotations and then linking to relevant contextual information (provided). Fits the WJEC/Eduqas GCSE Spec.

Lesson which focuses on The Great Depression and the pupils predicting what the book is about based on book covers. Created for Year 9 pupils but could be scaled up for GCSE study.
