Two worksheets to help students prepare questions and answers for the German general conversation part of the 2016 spec exam or for a speaking exam for the old 2014 spec specification. They are based on the questions in the back of Stimmt! AQA German Foundation book, but can be used with any text book.

Murder Mystery to run alongside Stimmt AQA GCSE Chapter 3 “Menschliche Beziehungen”, Now also includes an adapted version to go with the Pearson Edexcel GCSE book for the 2024 GCSE specification, Chapter 3 “Meine Welt, deine Welt”
Turn a whole chapter into a crime story! This project is intended to complement/ replace exercises from the text book and will link the pages together into one thrilling crime story. My students ask every lessons if they will find out ‘whodunit’, especially as there is a prize for the best detective!
The project should not take up much more time than using the book on its own as some tasks can replace text book tasks and get students to revise the text book vocabulary in a different context.

speaking about friendship
family relationships and reasons why you (don’t) get on with each other
weddings and opinions about marriage
separable verbs
future tense
imperfect modal verbs

This is a Tarsia puzzle to practise and revise German school vocabulary for GCSE students, including subjects, rooms, uniform and rules.
A tarsia consists of puzzle pieces that the students cut out and then match words to form a certain shape (ideally students don’t know what shape that is). They will quickly realise their mistakes if the puzzle won’t fit together.
Great activity for Friday afternoons or end of term.

Use the PowerPoint to show what Euro coins and notes look like (including German, French and Spanish coins) and the worksheet to practise recognising euros and writing prices in the target language. The example and the answers are in German but otherwise the worksheet can used in any language.
A fun plenary or starter to practise weather and seasons for GCSE level, for example page 118 in Stimmt AQA GCSE Higher, but can be used with any text book or for revision.
A powerpoint to introduce and practise a variety of jobs, places of work and descriptions of the workplace. Gives a quick overview of the conditional. Includes reading and speaking activities and several games.
The pictures in the presentation can be used to introduce and talk about celebrations in Germany and how important they to the people. It is aimed at AQA AS Level or Higher GCSE level. The first part of the puzzle sheet is a version of my puzzle sheet to go with Stimmt AQA GCSE "Wir feiern", the second part (crossword) is to aid understanding of the text on page 60 in the new Hodder AQA AS Level book. With answers on the worksheet and in the presentation.

A sentence builder with vocab to describe your school, using subordinate sentences. Includes a writing task in which students have to use the sentence builder to describe the pictures of two schools.
A powerpoint giving an overview of word order in German. Most of the explanations are in German, it is aimed as a comprehensive overview/revision for 6th form students.
Revise for a speaking exam about Family.
A powerpoint with lots of questions about your family. Students work in pairs and ask each other the questions, but only have a few second until the teacher goes to the next slide. Each questions shows if person A or B has to ask the question. It could be used as a speed dating activity.
Six word puzzles to revise the vocab of Unit 1 needed for the End of Unit test in writing, reading and listening. Includes answers.
Ideal for a revision lesson or as revision homework.
