**Instructions: ** Divide players into teams. Each team has sixty seconds to memorise all of the items in the box below. Players are not permitted to take a photo of the game sheet or to write any of the objects down on paper at this stage of the game. After the allocated time is up, the players will be asked to turn over their game sheets. They will then have three minutes to write down, from memory, each of the items below. This is a 18 page PPT which is based on the book Hatchet. I created this following reading chapter 4 of the book: just before Brian enters the woods. The class will imagine that they are in the same position as Brian and will write a list of items that they feel will aid survival until rescue comes. They will then discuss animals that they many encounter in the wilderness and the dangers of encountering these animals. Following this, the learners are given a scenario and then will answers 8 scenario based multi-choice questions ( answers and short explanations provided). The aim of the quiz is to determine whether or not they would survive a night in the wilderness! An extension task is provided also at the end of the PPT. a fun classroom activity.

An English Reading Comprehension Activity plus a Design a Bear Mascot and Logo task. This resource gives the learner an overview of this UK charity. Learners will read the text and then answer a number of skimming and scanning questions based on this document. There is also two extra activities for learners to complete. Answers are provided so that learners can self mark. This would suit KS2 learners.

Directions: Cut out the cards and place them into a hat. Each person picks a card from the hat and acts out what is on the card. This resource is a group activity where members of a team inspect a building to identify any hazards that pose a risk to employees who work there. This task has been used as part of a City and Guilds Employability module with adult learners. It has also been used as a team building task with KS3 learners. The team must inspect the building and identify hazards, before using a ‘Risk Assessment Matrix’ in order to determine the severity of the risk. Following this, they will then take part in a group meeting to discuss their finding. The seven page booklet has all the task sheets needed to complete the task and all instructions that the group must follow.

This resource I have created is a seven page booklet which contains a team activity that has been used many times with adult learners. These learners were completing a Level 1 Employability Course with City and Guilds and had to complete a module named: ‘Working as Part of a Team.’ This booklet covers unit 4 and unit 6 of the team working module. This group project gives learners a set of instructions to create a business plan that will be used to launch a new business venture. They are required to deliver this business plan in the form of a presentation, which they will used to show potential investors or clients of their services. The team will be required to plan everything from the company logo to advertising for staff members to join their firm. Depending on the ability of your learners this task usually takes between 3- 6 hours to complete before the learners deliver their presentation. All instructions for this task are in the booklet, as well as task sheets that will enable them to complete this task and also to reflect on the work they have completed. This activity has also been used with KS3 learners recently with great success.

Cut out and hide the clues around your building / classroom. The learners should be split in teams of two. They have to locate each clue which will contain an individual letter. Once they have located the clues they have to unscramble the letters which will reveal the name of a piece of school equipment. Separate sheet provided which contains clues and answer.

Get your learners to create their own Children in Need themed word search. Instructions: The learner will think of 12 words that are associated with this UK charity. They will write these words in the grid boxes and on the lines below the grid. Following this, the learner will then fill the remaining grid boxes with random letters of the alphabet. Get your learners to swap their completed word search with a peer, who will then complete it.
