This shop is slowly being filled with my favourite lesson plans. I love it when I find a resource that gives a complete lesson without the need for any extras or tweaking so that's what I'm aiming to also give when I add a new resource on here.

Infinite Cross Sums - Puzzle Starter

A great** infinite** resource - perfect to use as a starter warm-up activity. A new randomly generated puzzle is created each time for pupils to try and solve. The puzzle is a fantastic way to get pupils practicing using their numeracy skills. Press the button to reveal the answers one at a time - ideal to provide clues for students who need a little help. I hope your students enjoy this starter as much as mine do. Any feedback welcome. Thanks!

Conflict Resolution (behaviour management)

A wonderful tool to aid dealing with disputes between pupils. I created this resource to solve an ongoing problem between two students who were antagonising each other where there was no clear culprit or victim. The resource consists of a a fill in sheet to give to the students and then a poster to aid talking as you mediate between the students. The students learn: * To express their feelings to each other * Empathise * Problem solve together * Independently resolve conflicts The children also quickly learn, if used each time a problem arises, that they’d rather not miss their break time sat talking issues through and so they begin to avoid creating the problems in the first place. Works great for making the attention craving children who stir up trouble to stop and think!
Wildlife Park Maths Activity Pack

Wildlife Park Maths Activity Pack

(0)
This pack contains 5 different maths activities based around a wildlife park. Each activity is centered around a different area of mathematics and a different aspect of the park. The pack is designed to give the pupils an insight into the running of a wildlife park and an understanding of the vital role mathematics plays in its operation. The pack is ideal for a series of maths lessons that you want to tie in with a visit to a zoo/conservation park or simply practicing maths skills in a real-life context. The whole pack would take around 3 or 4 hours to complete. Task 1: map scales, compass directions, distance and area (level 3) - based around a map of WIllow Wildlife Park. Task 2: money operations (level 3) - based around the park gift shop. Task 3: designing and costing a new bear enclosure (level 2/3). Task 4: time (level 3/4) - based around a volunteer’s working day at the park. Task 5: pie chart, percentages (level 4/5) - based around the annual report of the park detailing income sources. All question answers included. This pack has been repeatedly used successfully with a whole yr7 year group before a wildlife park visit. It would also be suitable for primary year 6 children. I hope your students enjoy the activities as much as ours have. Feedback warmly welcome.

Nets of Cuboids Lessons & Worksheet

3 Resources
Two complete lessons covering drawing nets of cuboids and finding their surface area. The accompanying worksheet is perfect for a homework task on drawing nets of cuboids. These lessons are great taught together as the learning of the first lesson on drawing nets is nicely built upon and reinforced by the second lesson on surface area.
