Using words from Phase 2 Phonics, I have created, 20 comprehension cards. Each card has one simple sentence and then 2 questions to answer. Child can read the sentence and then adult can read the question to them and the child can write their answers below. These could printed off and used as a quick group activity or laminated and used during child initiated time.

Each page has a 4 or 5 line paragraph with a sound to search for.
Differentiated for early readers.
Each sentence is simple for some children to read and others to just have a go at reading or just look out for the focus sound, making it differentiated for early readers.
Once the child finds the sound they can either highlight or circle it. Once finished they can count how many sounds they have found.
Unscramble the simple sentences and rewrite in the space above. All words are in Phase 4 Phonics, including tricky words.
There are 7 worksheets with 4 sentences, along with pictures, on each sheet.
Sheets can be given to the children whole or cut into 2 or 4.
You might also want to laminate them and leave out for the children to access during free flow.
