Using words from Phase 2 Phonics, I have created, 20 comprehension cards. Each card has one simple sentence and then 2 questions to answer. Child can read the sentence and then adult can read the question to them and the child can write their answers below. These could printed off and used as a quick group activity or laminated and used during child initiated time.

The idea is to get each group to talk about their picture and decide which story they think it’s from.
At the end, each group announce which story they think their picture is from then show their card to the rest of the class to see if their pictures match up to the story they think it’s from.
