This resource contains an asylum seeker/refugee simulation activity pack.
It includes an editable lesson plan, a simulation activity and a set of follow-up activities. The simulation, in PowerPoint form, contains 8 scenarios. Pupils are divided into groups and are required to make decisions/take actions. Some of the scenarios are accompanied by a timer with dramatic music playing to simulate the confusion in which refugees have to make quick decisions.
Refugees Are Human Beings PowerPoint Slide Show With Music
This is a powerful and poignant slideshow, accompanied by music, about asylum seekers and refugees. A picture speaks a thousand words and these images certainly do that. This resource could be used in a variety of ways –for an assembly, to stimulate discussion and creative writing. The slides could be printed off and used for display.

Refugee Bundle
This resource contains a Chinese New Year animal zodiac themed coordinates PowerPoint game. It is a fun way to reinforce coordinates in the first quadrant. There are three different grids to provide hours of fun! It can be played with a whole class and includes team score sheets.
Suggestions for use:
- Divide group/class into teams.
- Teams take turns to choose a coordinate.
- The scoring system is 2 points for a pig as it is the Year of the Pig and 1 point for all other animals.
- A 'thumbs down' means no point scored.
This resource is appropriate for primary aged pupils and older, SEN students.
