Expanded Noun Phrase - Double Lesson
A fully-resourced double lesson that focuses on introducing expanded noun phrases.
The first lesson focuses on being able to identify the determiner, adjective/s and nouns before taking examples of expanded noun-phrases and placing them in sentences.
The second lesson then follows up by working on creating examples of expanded noun-phrases from images and given noun phrases.
Each lesson includes a lesson PowerPoint that provides the opportunity to teach, discuss and practice key areas before then moving on to independent activities which include answer sheets where relevant (some don’t due to the open nature of answers.)

Determiners - Using 'A' or 'An' Lesson
A fully resourced lesson that focuses on being able to introduce determiners/ articles with the, a and an with a major focus of the lesson then being on whether to use a or an based on vowel and consonant sounds.
Included in the resource is:
A lesson PowerPoint that can be used for teaching points, discussions and practice before allowing children to complete an independent activity.
An independent activity that practises using a and an accurately, both within phrases and within sentences as well as a challenge question. An answer sheet is also included for this.

United Kingdom and Great Britain Geography Lessons
Two fully-resourced lessons that focus on introducing or recapping the geography of the United Kingdom and Great Britain.
The first lesson focuses on looking at the difference between Great Britain and the United Kingdom as well as then being able to locate and identify the countries on a world map. This is followed up with identifying the U.K on a world map as well as identifying the countries as separate outlines. Included is a lesson presentation with modeling and discussion as well as an independent activity that includes an answer sheet.
The second lesson focuses on recapping the first lesson as well as then identifying the capital cities of the four countries and the sea and oceans surrounding the United Kingdom. Included is a lesson presentation that provides the chance to model and discuss, a recap task linked to the previous lesson to support retention of learning and independent activities linked to the learning. An answer sheet is included for both the recap task and independent activities.
Year 5 Area - Area of Quadrilaterals Double Lesson
A fully-resourced double lesson that focuses on the objective of finding the area of quadrilaterals, with a particular focus on squares and rectangles.
Included in the resource is:
A double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary and areas to model and discuss as well as then having some guided practice for children to work through to check their understanding.
This is then followed up by an independent practice activity and challenge questions for those that finish. These are planned to run over the two lessons with the first lesson potentially taking more teaching time and the second lesson giving more time for practice and challenges. Answer sheets are included for both.
All attachments are uploaded as PowerPoints so they can be easily adapted, especially in adapting to any misconceptions or needs that arise from the first lesson.
UK Cities and Compass Points Double Lesson
Two fully-resourced lessons that focus on looking at cities in the United Kingdom and being able to use different compass points.
The first lesson focuses on looking at different types of settlement and being able to identify these by images/ by description. This then moves on to focusing on cities in the United Kingdom, identifying cities on a map as well as then being challenged to find more cities for each county of the United KIngdom. Included is a lesson presentation with modeling and discussion as well as independent activities that includes answer sheets. There is also a recap task based on previous lessons in the sequence to identify capital cities of the UK and seas and oceans.
The second lesson focuses on different compass points, recapping the four compass points and using the eight compass points. These are then used to link to the first lesson in being able to describe the position of one city to another using compass points. Included is a lesson presentation that provides the chance to model and discuss, a recap task linked to the previous lesson to support retention of learning and independent activities linked to the learning. An answer sheet is included for both the recap task and independent activities.

Year 5 Perimeter - Measuring and Calculating (4 Lessons)
Four lessons that focus on being able to work with perimeter in Year 5 with lessons set out as two double lessons.
The first double lesson focuses on being able to measure shapes and calculate the perimeter of rectangles and squares where a ruler has been provided to measure the shapes.
The second double lesson then follows up by focusing on being able to calculate the perimeter of different shapes, using the information provided or what children already know about the property of shapes.
Each double lesson includes:
A double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, modelling and discussion points as well as guided practice before moving on to independent activities.
An independent activity that applies what children have learnt during the teaching part of the lesson. An answer sheet is included for the activity and there are challenge activities for children that finish which also include answers. The activity and challenges run over both lessons as it is expected that there may be more time teaching and talking in the first lesson before having more time to practise in the second lesson. However, everything is uploaded in PPT format so can be easily edited to suit.

Information Text Unit of Work - Plants (10 lessons)
A fully-resourced unit of work linked to information texts about plants with ten lessons looking at identifying features and being able to create written information texts.
Included in the 10 lesson sequence is a PowerPoint with all the lessons included within as well as any supporting resources needed. This includes:
Lesson 1 - Looking at the organisational features of an information text and identifying these within given examples. There are three different example texts included to support this as well as a modelled example.
Lesson 2 - Looking at the important role sub-headings play and then being able to create sub-headings where these have been taken out in example information texts. Included is also a support sheet with potential examples for anyone who struggles.
Lesson 3 - Paragraphs - This lesson focuses on being able to sort information based on the topic it has. This will include some practice as well as then being able to sort different sentences into which one of the three paragraphs it would fit into.
Lesson 4 - Planning and making notes. This lesson focuses on being able to plan and make notes ready to turn into an information text. Included is a planning sheet, example texts that can be used to gather information (alongside books and internet research potentially) and a model planning sheet that shows how to write in notes and bullet point format. This lesson can easily be extended into two lessons if necessary to gather enough information.

The final set of lessons from lesson 5 onwards follow the same pattern of showing an example of that paragraph style from the text, an opportunity to write one together as a class before then giving children time to write their own paragraph and edit. There is an editing sheet with prompts to support some key areas for children to check. This then finishes with children publishing their work, deciding on the layout they wish to use. To support this, some images are included that they can cut out and use within their finished piece should they wish.
Year 4 Addition and Subtraction - 4 digit + 4 digit Double Lesson (no carrying)
A fully-resourced double lesson aimed at the Year 4 objective based on being able to add two 4-digit numbers with no carrying required.
Included is a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, modelling and discussion as well as guided practice. This then moves on to an independent activity and challenge questions, with answers included for these.

Three lessons aimed at the Year 4 objective based on being able to add and subtract 1s, 10s, 100s and 1000s through the use of place value to mentally complete the calculations as opposed to using a written method.

Three lessons aimed at the Year 4 objective based on being able to add two four-digit numbers together that require different levels of carrying being applied.
The first lesson acts as an introductory lesson. Included within this lesson is the lesson PowerPoint which includes an arithmetic starter, key vocabulary, modelling and discussion as well as guided practice. This then moves on to an independent activity and challenge questions, with answers included for these.
The second and third lesson then act as a double lesson. 4x Table Activities (20 activities)
20 different activities linked to the 4x table that give the opportunity to work on and improve understanding of the 4x table facts in different ways.
This includes activities that range from list questions that help show commutativity, inverse and multiples of 10, 0.1 etc., filling in tables that require children to make links between different facts, completing sequences that link to the ability to count in 4s and using written multiplication and division using facts from the 4x table.
Answers are also included for every activity in a separate booklet.
