Year 4 Addition and Subtraction Unit (20 lessons)
A fully resourced unit of work for a Year 4 unit on Addition and Subtraction that provides 20 lessons.
Included in the 20 lesson sequence is:
Lesson 1, 2 and 3 - Add and subtract using place value (1s, 10s, 100s and 1000s)
Lesson 4 and 5- Add two 4-digit numbers (no carrying)
Lesson 6 and 7 - Add two 4-digit numbers (1 carry)
Lesson 8, 9 and 10 -Add two 4-digit numbers (multiple carrying)
Lesson 11 and 12 - Subtract using two 4-digit numbers (no exchanging)
Lesson 13 and 14 - Subtract using two 4-digit numbers (1 exchange)
Lesson 15, 16 and 17 - Subtract using two 4-digit numbers (multiple exchanging)
Lesson 18, 19 and 20 - Selecting most appropriate strategies for addition and subtraction
Most lessons come in double lessons bar the two triple lessons where there is an introductory lesson followed by a double lesson. Each double lesson includes a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for every lesson, key vocabulary, modelling, discussion and practice before moving onto an independent activity and challenge tasks that stretch over the two lessons. Answer sheets are included for all independent activities and challenge tasks.
The single lesson at the start of triple lessons has all the same features but only has a single lesson PowerPoint.
Year 4 Addition and Subtraction - Appropriate Strategies (3x lessons)
Three lessons aimed at the Year 4 objective based on being able to decide on the most appropriate strategy for addition and subtraction.
The first lesson acts as an introductory lesson. Included within this lesson is the lesson PowerPoint which includes an arithmetic starter, key vocabulary, modelling and discussion as well as guided practice. This then moves on to an independent activity and challenge questions, with answers included for these.
The second and third lesson then act as a double lesson. There is a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, modelling and discussion as well as guided practice. 8x Table Activities (25 activities)
25 different activities linked to the 8x table that give the opportunity to work on and improve understanding of the 8x table facts in different ways.
This includes activities that range from list questions that help show commutativity, inverse and multiples of 10, 0.1 etc., filling in tables that require children to make links between different facts, completing sequences that link to the ability to count in 8s and using written multiplication and division using facts from the 8x table. Additionally, there are tasks linked to fractions in finding fractions of amounts, multiplying and dividing fractions by whole numbers and multiplying a fraction by a fraction.
Answers are also included for every activity in a separate booklet.

Rosa Parks Reading Planning Bundle
Two sets of reading comprehension lessons based on Rosa Parks. They both follow the same comprehension skills but provide the opportunity to differentiate the lessons across age groups with one set of planning being more suited to a Year 2 reading age and the other being suited to lower KS2. This includes different challenges of information text and different activities linked to the skills.
For each one there is:

A fully-resourced double lesson that focuses on teaching coordinating conjunctions, with a specific focus on ‘and, but, so’.
The first lesson focuses on being able to identify them, as well as discussing the role they play. The second lesson then takes this learning and extends it by requiring children to decide what the most appropriate coordinating conjunction is in each sentence.

Year 3 Animals including Humans - Food Groups Lesson
A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Animals including Humans. This lesson is the first lesson of a sequence, looking at the different food groups. The lesson presentation includes key vocabulary and discussion around why we eat, as well as looking the Eatwell plate and the different food groups within this.
This is then followed by an independent activity that requires children to label an Eatwell plate and consider foods for each group. This is then followed by a challenge question to provide the chance to reason. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included.
Alongside this is a second version of the lesson aimed at any groups who may be working at a lower level. The aim of the lesson is the same and there is a presentation, activity with answers and support sheet at a more appropriate level.
Year 3 Animals including Humans - Organs Lesson
A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Animals including Humans. This lesson is the fourth lesson of a sequence, looking at organs. The lesson presentation includes a recap task looking at prior learning from a previous lesson (can easily be discarded if you are using this as a stand alone lesson) key vocabulary and discussion around some of the different organs in the body and the role they play.
This is then followed by an independent activity working on applying the learning about organs and what they do. This is then followed by a challenge task to create a replica body with organs in the right place based on a provided image. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included, with an answer sheet also included for the recap task.
Alongside this is a second version of the lesson aimed at any groups who may be working at a lower level. The aim of the lesson is the same and there is a presentation, activity with answers and support sheet at a more appropriate level.
Year 3 Animals including Humans - Bones Lesson
A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Animals including Humans. This lesson is the third lesson of a sequence, looking at the human skeleton. The lesson presentation includes a recap task looking at prior learning from a previous lesson (can easily be discarded if you are using this as a stand alone lesson) key vocabulary and discussion around the different bones in the body and the role the skeleton plays. This is then followed up with some true and false questions linked to the information.
This is then followed by an independent activity working on identifying bones in the body, scientific names, the function of the skeleton and some true and false questions. This is then followed by a challenge task to show what else they know about bones. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included, with an answer sheet also included for the recap task.
Alongside this is a second version of the lesson aimed at any groups who may be working at a lower level. The aim of the lesson is the same and there is a presentation, activity with answers and support sheet at a more appropriate level.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Reading Comprehension (Chapter 2, 3 and 4)
Three different reading comprehension activities linked to the chapters 2, 3 and 4 from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Each chapter has a comprehension activity that includes 20 questions that work on different skills as well as also having the answers included separately.
