A reading comprehension pack linked to the book ‘The Nothing to see Here Hotel’. Included in the pack is a 10 question task for every chapter included in the book which means there are 26 tasks overall, resulting in 260 questions linked to the book. Each chapter includes a range of skills including retrieving, inferring and considering the use of vocabulary and language features. An answer sheet is also included for each chapter.

Two double lessons that focus on securing the concept of written division in Year 5 using a written method and using remainders in context. The first double lesson focuses on being able to continue practising using written division with 4-digit numbers divided by 1-digit as well as looking at being able to apply remainders in a context where they need to either add another group on or remove the remainder to get the answer. The second double lesson then continues to provide the chance to practise written division as well as then looking at remainders in terms of money and measurement and being able to create a decimal answer. Included in both sets of double lessons are a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, discussion points and practices. There is then an activity that includes an answer sheet and challenge questions for anyone that finishes with answers again included. Included in the 15 lesson sequence is: Lesson 1 - 3-digit by 1-digit multiplication Lesson 2 and 3 - 4-digit by 1-digit multiplication Lesson 4 and 5 - 3-digit by 2-digit multiplication Lesson 6 and 7 - 4-digit by 2-digit multiplication Lesson 8 and 9 - 3-digit divided by 1-digit Lesson 10 and 11 - 4-digit divided by 1-digit Lesson 12, 13, 14 and 15 - Using written division and applying remainders to the context Within the lessons, small steps are applied when appropriate such as doing a 4-digit x 1-digit before then doing the same 4-digit number by a 2-digit number that includes the previous 1-digit number. These are presented in a number of different ways, including counting colour counters and saying how many there are altogether, filling in missing numbers on different part-whole models, writing addition and subtraction facts for the numbers given, filling in missing numbers in part-part-whole models and even linking number bonds to 10 to solve number bonds to 100 with multiples of 10. These can be used either as questions to do as a class or to print and get children to work through at different points.

Within the presentation, there are representations using Base 10, numerical representations and sentences. This includes saying how many tens and ones there are before saying what the number is, looking at the whole number to say how many tens and ones there are and saying what a missing value is, both with tens and ones and other partitions e.g. 92 = 50 and 42.

A range of activities that can be used as part of welcoming a new class in. Included is: An all about me activity sheet - there are two versions of this with one being a colour background and one being plain white if needed for printing. A someone who has/ can activity - A bingo style activity of trying to find a different individual for each box of what they have done, can do or have. This again comes with a colour background or white background for printing purposes. A birthday activity - Each month is included with children needing to find out other birthdays in the class to record appropriately in each month. Favourite activity, pet and snacks activities - These are three different data collection activities that provide the opportunity to find out favourite pets, snacks and activities, collecting this data as a tally chart. This is then followed up with a bar chart activity where children can practise applying the data to a graphic representation.
