An Introduction to French Accents
An introduction to French accents for younger children . Possibly useful for grade 2 children. Focuses on the names of the 5 accents, which letters they are found on and how to write them. There are examples of some common words which have accents. Also included is a grid to fill to practise writing a selection of letters with a range of accents. FRENCH Adjectives - Les Adjectifs (les contraires) - Worksheets
An exciting and fun way to introduce a range of adjectives, using opposite words in French. I have given both mas/fem adjectives where needed. There is a colour matching activity. Follow-on work includes translating and a gap-fill activity. Also included are flashcards. We made up actions for all of adjectives. I backed and laminated one set of words in one colour card and the other set in a different colour. I placed one set onto the whiteboard and from the muddled set students came to match the opposite words correctly. Using a timer made it more challenging. The kids loved it and with lots of practice they were soon able to start using these adjectives in sentences.

Talk about the snowball picture before the writing is done. A way of finding out what your students already know. This includes a gap-fill graduated worksheet.
There is a colour by numbers activity using the number name and not written in number order. A further colouring picture using the initial letter of the colour. A pleasant change to colour by numbers, don’t you agree?
There is also a crossword puzzel with a completed teacher copy.
Finally, a Christmas card that just needs to be printed on card, folded in half and away you go.

Blockbuster is based is based on the game show where the aim is to complete a line of connecting hexagonal shapes either from side to side or from top to bottom. To gain control of a shape, students have to name the picture to gain control of the shape. This could be extended by naming the colour of the item. Have fun. My students did!
