Playing lotto is a fun way to practise and reinforce the names of animals in French. Could also be used in early years and for any foreign language. I split my children into small groups and they each take turn at being the 'teacher&'. They love calling out &';Qui a un chat?' &'Qui a une vache?&'; To win the card the reply is 'J&'ai un chat&';, 'J&'ai une vache&';. As children become confident with vocabulary, the colours of the animals could also be mentioned. Please take a moment to comment. Your feedback is much appreciated.

Snakes and ladder game to reinforce school subjects/days of the week/time and the phrase ‘J’étudie…’. More able students could also give opinions on the subjects which they land on. Rules for playing the game differ slightly to those of regular snakes and ladders. Back onto card and laminate to make the game more durable. I have also added a 2nd game. The idea with this one is to use the expressions: I like/love/hate/don’t like. 2ticks=I love, 1tick=I like, 2crosses=I hate and 1 cross=I don’t like. Feedback is always very welcome.

A fun way to practise the names of animals in French. However could in fact be used for any language. An extension to simply naming the animals, could be to practise the phrase J'ai un chat, J&'ai une souris etc.. Colours could also be mentioned or even the size of the animal. This is a very engaging & fun activity that revises Christmas vocab. verbs, question words, opinions é the weather. Students are given the the muddled sentences. (The unscrambled sentences is a teacher copy.) Students cut out the words é unscramble them to form a sentence that makes sense. They stick the sentence onto the worksheet and underneath translate the sentence into English. Those students who are able, can answer those sentences which are questions. In French, bien sûr. A simple graduated fill-in activity to the introduction of the phrase 'I have ....&' and &';I don't have ....&' . Uses everyday objects. Some boxes have been left blank for the children to draw their own pictures. I have added a more challenging worksheet for the more able students. This acts as a revision for naming objects they already know and using a dictionary to find the words of objects that they do not know.
