They really enjoyed it because the story is so silly! Pictures can be used for many different activities but will hopefully save you some time!

Wordmat with a_e sound words on, use to write silly sentences. Can be an independent phonics activity. Could also remove the word and ask ch. to fill a_e word in.

Linked to our topic on Bob Marley, children to fill in speech bubbles of something he may have said at that time. If you're looking at someone else, just change the pictures.

Various resources used for a reading/phonics workshops, includes: invitation, poster about gobbledygook words (link to phonics screening) and a few other bits. The documents put together make a pack that is supported by a power point presentation.

Used as a template, words can be changed depending on what topic you are doing. Our topic is 'What is our school made from?' so we have taken key words for children to cut out and stick onto the sheet with an alphabet strip.

Can be used as ext. activity or independent guided reading activity. Children copy front cover (before having read), ensuring they include author and title and then write a sentence predicting what the book might be about.

A format for children to use with a range of story books. Children read and select exciting words that they find in books. They can later use these words in their own writing.

Match word to image, related to 'joins and hinges' topic in DT. Once children have matched the right word, they then copy the correct word.

Font and colour can be changed but sounds are typed out to be used for display. Put somewhere children stand to line up so they can practise their sounds as often as possible.
