Hi! I currently work in London as a Deputy Headteacher. I love all things teaching and learning! I am extremely passionate about education and find researching and creating new strategies and ideas exciting. The world of teaching and leading in England is highly stressful and it's up to all of us to look after each other's well-being...I hope my resources save you some precious time.

Successful Supporting Statement Headteacher

Successful Supporting Statement Headteacher

(0)
A supporting / personal statement (containing blood, sweat and tears!) for the post of Headteacher. This supporting statement, of over 3000 words, ensured that I was shortlisted. I was subsequently appointed as Headteacher in a 2-form state primary. I have removed specific names and replaced with XXX. There is copy write on the document. Please do not simply lift statements. The purpose of the document is to support your understanding of how to write a supporting statement, including the language to use and how to show your impact as a leader. It also shows how you can structure a supporting statement, using the headings provided in the person specification. I prefer this layout style myself and feel that it shows that you are organised, as well as, making the shortlisting process easier for governors/trustees.

67 colour-coded flashcards covering all sounds in Phase 2, 3 and 5 - Letters and Sounds

(0)
67 flashcards covering all sounds from Phase 2 - Phase 5 in Letters and Sounds. This is one resource, which has been a saviour for many years now. Cut out and laminate the sounds and you have a great, durable set of sounds to aid the teaching of phonics. Phase 2 - blue border Phase 3 - orange border Phase 5 - green border One key element in the teaching of phonics is to revisit previous sounds taught - using these flashcards is a great way to do just that! Lots of games can be played using flashcards, including, 'your pile, my pile'. I have uploaded them as a PDF file and also as a word document, in case you wish to edit. Any questions, please just ask! Please check out my other resources...

Presentation and examples of rubrics, which I created when running an INSET on self- and peer- assessment. The INSET had very good feedback and teachers changed their practice as a result. It was created for an hours INSET. The presentation is 11 slides long. It asks teachers to reflect, gives information on current practice in self- and peer-assessment, has activities for teachers to complete in teams and gives examples. My resources always take me a lot of time and effort to create so I hope that they help to save you some precious time - please do review my resources. Thank you!

Sentence doctor - great grammar resource, asking pupils to repair sentences by correcting grammar

(0)
This was a great tool that I used with my class. It covers contractions, general punctuation , singular possession , plural possession , was/were and much/many. Pupils are taught about a particular aspect of grammar and then shown the slides on the IWB, which asks them to fix the sentences. Perfect for AFL and ensuring that they understand. The presentation is easy to adapt and you can quickly change the sentences to suit other grammar needs that you may have. There is also a blank activity sheet, which is perfect for typing in and sending home for homework once the pupils are familiar with hoe the game works. Pupils could also use this sheet to write their own incorrect sentences for a partner to fix! If you have any questions or need any support, send me a message and I'll do anything I can to help. Please do review any resources that you download - many thanks!
