Hi! I currently work in London as a Deputy Headteacher. I love all things teaching and learning! I am extremely passionate about education and find researching and creating new strategies and ideas exciting. The world of teaching and leading in England is highly stressful and it's up to all of us to look after each other's well-being...I hope my resources save you some precious time.

For a Y6 Science/English lesson, we wrote an interview with Mary Anning. As it was for SATs evidence and display, we published it onto the attached writing paper. Hope it saves you a few minutes!
Also, a modelled write for the task.
Mindmaps where children can fill words in, sometimes an independent activity in class or sent home for homework. Linked to sounds that we learn that week.
Sheets can be easily changed to fit any sound.
I hope you have found these resources useful. If you have time please leave feedback :)
Links to 'which soap lathers the most?' test included in other resources. A differentiated sheet to start thinking about keeping a test fair and how to make it safe.
Used in a school that had issues with KUW. Starting point as homework gives ch. opportunity to ask anything they'd like, which can then be addressed in lesson.
Children to study adn read first verse of The Windmill by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and draw images related, for example, some drew a windmill with an angry giant face others drew a tiger with sharp teeth to represent granite jaws.
Given 9 key words in groups, children then rearrange the key words discussing which they think is most important and so on. This happens on the floor with large paper and flashcards, the end result is then written up onto this sheet.

I already have two free mock phonics screening tests in my free resources. If you have already used those, here is an option for a brand new (2016) edition. The test is laid out as the STA lay theirs out.
There are 40 words: 20 real and 20 pseudo. There is also a tick sheet to record pupils’ answers and a class record sheet.
I would advise carrying out several mock screening checks so that the children are comfortable with the format. Also, this allows you to find individual or common areas for development and plan your phonics sessions accordingly. As a school, we have had extremely good phonics screening results, 80-90%.
This resource could also be printed off as a booklet and given as homework to encourage families to support their children in working towards passing the phonics screening.
My resources always take me a lot of time and effort to create so I hope that they help to save you some precious time - please do review my resources. Thank you!
A editable pupil survey to better understand primary school pupils’ thoughts and feelings about their lessons, class and school. The survey uses for cats’ faces for a bit of fun! There are closed 16 questions and 2 open questions at the end. I have used this survey from Y1-Y6. I read and explained the questions to classes.
An interesting and extremely informative newspaper article, which concentrates on Trump's views on immigration, accompanied by 12 comprehension questions.
A newspaper article focusing on who Trump is and information about his election. Included is an activity where pupils must find 22 errors in the article, this can be done individually or in partners. The newspaper article can be used for many different lessons or simple as a guided reading tool.
