Lesson objectives: Understand the social and psychological reasons behind elite performers using illegal drugs and doping methods to aid performance. Explain the physiological effects of drugs on the performer and their performance. Be aware of the positive and negative implications to the sport and the performer of drug taking. Outline various strategies for the elimination of performance-enhancing drugs in sport and develop the ability to present arguments for and against drug taking and testing in sport. This bundle consists of a 2 powerpoint lessons (one 32 slide long lesson powerpoint and one 19 slide ppt) and also contains two supporting worksheets that allow students to concisely detail the different PEDs, using examples and the reasons why performers take PEDs.
