Year 9 Non-fiction week 5 lessons - articles
This part of the scheme requires students to bring in a few empty bottles of hair or beauty products. This could also be done as part of their independent study. They need a list of ingredients from products they regularly use themselves ideally, or the teacher can just bring in some empty boxes/bottles for the students to investigate. Again, links in with the PSHE body image unit and helps students to write basic articles ready for GCSE.

AQA Introduction to A’level study of combined English Language and English Literature. This thirty lesson, six-week scheme of learning with 30 powerpoints and resources is designed to help students in a fun way to make a smooth transition between GCSE and A’level. It both builds onto and revises GCSE English literature and language skills, introducing linguistic and literary frames of analysis necessary for the study of the AQA Paris Anthology. Each week introduces a new frame and short exercises using quality extracts which build to the study of a variety of the Paris anthology texts with both the spoken and written modes. A quick cultural capital exercise and quizzes are included in each lesson, further helping disadvantaged students to bridge the gap.
