Overview “Exploring Power” is a resource designed to help students understand and explore the concept of power through Art and Design. This handout includes essential keywords, mood board ideas, information about influential artists, and connections to pop culture. I created this resource to support my KS4 Art and Design students, however it is also suitable for KS3 and 5. This resource contains a mind map with 100+ keywords around the theme of Power. It also contains 3 moodboards that explore politics, environment and human nature as a subtheme of Power. This resource introduces students to a wide variety of artists who explore Power throughout their work. For example: Ai Weiwei Marina Abramović Ali Ferzat Barbara Krueger Bansky Students are also given 6 examples of books and films that explore the theme of Power in their narrative. Use this handout to deepen your students understanding of Power and allow them to express their insights creatively through Art and Design.
