Each word has a picture and arrows to show which direction the 3 letters go. The challenge is for the children to work out the initial sounds and then they can follow the arrows and write the letters to make the words. The first word-bed- is done to show the children what to do. Once the words are complete, children can check on the CVC word grid provided and tick off the words or draw a picture. Page 8 is a template that you or the children can use to make new words or focus on one middle sound. All vowels are included in the middle sounds.

A worksheet for each season with a literacy link. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter worksheets follow the same format. The alphabet runs across the top to assist with phonics, spelling and alphabetical order. The key words that correspond to the pictures are written out for each season. There are pictures to name, colour and write the initial sound next to for each season. There is space for children to write a sentence about each season using the key words to help them. 2 worksheets showing word wheels. There are 4 wheels on each page with a central letter in the middle and 8 letters around it. The idea is that children make up to 5 words for each wheel with the central letter in the middle. They list the words they have made. Central sounds / letters are the vowels, y, ee and oo. Y is more or a challenge as is ee and oo, depending on the level of the children. Worksheet 3 is a template so that you can add your own middle sounds to extend the activity.
